Announcement    There will be new creatures here as soon as I can stitch some more. Each creature is one of a kind, determined by the sweaters I find so it can take some time before I have a few to sell. If you want to see what I'm making and when there will be more creatures here follow me on facebook.

I make whimsical folk art creatures from repurposed fabrics, mainly wool and cashmere sweaters. I've always liked the idea of taking something and making it something else, taking something that is dated and possibly too worn for actually wearing and making something else out of it. I also like the fact that so many of the sweaters I use were way too expensive for me when they were new but now I get to experience all the luxury of the famous labels in a whole new way.

If you are interested in seeing what I am working on please follow Sweet Poppy Cat on facebook. I try and post pictures there of what I am working on and also post when things will be listed here on Etsy.

I also love to create ceramic sculptures, usually in the form of a droll looking face. Sometimes with a party hat and sometimes without. Someday soon I hope to get back to them. When I do they can be found here: amandakatzenmeyer.etsy.com

My sister has an etsy shop too. She also has the "sweater addiction". Please wander over there too. katzfire.etsy.com
