TerrapinKnits's Shop Announcement

Welcome to my home knitting shop. I live in the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont and love to create with wool, natural fiber yarns, fabric and recyled materials.

This is the time of year that I concentrate on Christmas Stockings. They are fun, decorative, colorful, and make special gifts for newborns, newlyweds, or a new Christmas Tradition.

In the knitted stockings, I have new ornamental sizes and new colors and designs in addition to many of the favorites that were a part of the Garnet Hill Natural Fibers Catalog for 20 years.

I am also always thinking about how to encourage and promote an environmental sensitivity and awareness while making handmade items. While Christmas can be so overwhelming and over consumptive, the stockings are a wonderful way to reduce the consumption, and return to the beautiful tradition and ritual of gift exchange, while keeping the scale smaller. I have added some recycled fabric stockings this year to further celebrate the message of reusing and reducing without losing the celebratory spirit!
