My name's Cathi. I am a potter and artist living in California's storied Mother Lode. I share my home and life with my husband and any number of dogs, cats, goats and other creatures on 20 oak-wooded acres of the Sierra foothills.
My interests are varied - I am primarily a ceramic artist, but I have been known to do the occasional drawing, woodcut, silkscreen and website, so you may see a variety of things here.
I have been, for the past 15+ years, very active in purebred dog (Boxer) rescue and education and animal welfare (as opposed to animal rights) and so you may occasionally see items listed that will benefit various Boxer Rescues or promote responsible pet ownership. I promise not too get preachy...
My primary focus is on functional high-fire stoneware and Raku.
I have a small clay studio out my back door, and a couple of small gas kilns out where one would typically park the car.
I only use food safe glazes on my functional ware. please note that Raku is not considered functional by most standards.

I like PayPal - its safe and secure, and allows you to use a variety of payment methods. I will accept checks and money orders, but please understand, I won't be able to ship your item(s) until the check clears.
Will Call purchases must be paid for prior to pick up please.
I understand that may be inconvenient, but its for safety reasons.
We live quite rurally. Sometimes its difficult for us to get to the post every day, so please allow 3-5 days for your order to ship. If you need it rushed out, drop me a note and I'll do my best to get to town ASAP.
Domestic orders are shipped USPS Priority Mail. Tracking and insurance are included.
Non-US orders ship USPS Parcel Post.

Shipping options are a little limited here, but what you need to know is that I will place your items in the least expensive Priority Mail box possible, and refund excess shipping costs before shipping your item.
If you're paying by check/money order, I'll email you with the correct shipping total.
If you are a local customer, arrangements can be made for you to pick up your purchase and avoid shipping charges.

Refunds and Exchanges
OOAK and individual items with a value of $20 or more are always insured, and if your item is damaged in shipping, you may request either a refund or a replacement.
If you choose a refund, you MUST return the damaged item and original packaging/shipping materials to me so I can file a claim with the PO.
I will issue your refund, or ship a new item as soon as I receive the damaged item.
Small, production pieces, such as lint feeders, personalized ornaments etc will be replaced as soon as possible (usually after the next firing).

For custom orders, I ask for a 50% deposit up front.
If I am unable to fulfill your request in a timely manner, or you cancel your request before work has begun, your deposit will be refunded in full.
If you cancel your order after work has begun, you'll receive 25% of your deposit back.
