TheasBeeBeautiful's Shop Announcement

Thank you for visiting Thea’s Bee Beautiful! My lovely organic skin care products and therapies are made one small precious batch at a time in my farmhouse kitchen in the central mountains of Idaho. I keep my ingredients simple and pure using formulas I developed and had friends try out until we were all happy.

I started making my creams in 2008 after studying with an herbalist for several years (I still work with her). I became concerned that so many beauty products contained unhealthy and even carcinogenic ingredients. It seemed I would just find a face cream I liked and felt was “safe”, when it would no longer be available. I decided to research and make my own. Soon, I was selling my creams at our local farmer’s market. Repeat customers and encouragement led me to develop more products and to begin selling at shows and now… Etsy.

Creams are creams because some kind of liquid is whipped into the selected oils. It is the variation in these ingredients that makes each cream unique. My creams are whipped using herbal or floral hydrosols that I distill myself in my 7.5 gallon copper distiller which resides in my laundry room and takes up quite a bit of space with its resplendent, coppery beauty. I pack a five gallon bucket full of herbs (mint, cleavers, rose, elderflower) into the “cooking” tower of my distiller, add water, screw down the top, fill the cooling tower with water, plug it in and – PRESTO! – two to ten hours later I have a fresh batch of hydrosol (and perhaps some essential oil). Glittering and clear, this precious liquid retains the healing qualities of the herb distilled. It is for this reason that I chose to whip hydrosol into my creams – it adds an extra level of quality and healing to any product I add it to, whether it is a cream or a toner.

Please know that my carrier oils, clays, and witch hazel are all organic. I wild-harvest the herbs for my products myself (with help from family!), thoughtfully and with care within my locale. My premise is to use a healing herb from my area in each product along with something from the bees – beeswax, royal jelly, honey, or propolis. My packaging is simple and recyclable. The labels were designed by my lovely daughter and I print them at home.

It is my deepest wish to provide my customers with healthy products that are good for your skin and satisfying – even joyful – to use. All my products are unscented – when you open a jar of mint cream, that lovely scent is straight from my hand harvested, hand distilled mint to you.

In my store you will find dreamy creams for hand, face, and body; hydrating and cleansing masks; toners to cleanse and refresh, soothing lip balm, and my caffeine-free raspberry leaf, lavender and rose petal skin refreshing tea. Try some today! Your skin and spirit will thank you.
