Welcome to The Chic Chickadee, home of one-of-a-kind, carefully designed and crafted, environmentally friendly, quality gifts, toys and home decor.

All of my plush toys are unique and from patterns designed by me. I create and test prototypes of all of my patterns, tweaking them until they meet my exacting design standards. They are simple and timeless, a perfect way to welcome a new baby or show someone that you care about them. I use 100% natural fibers, usually wool or cashmere. I carefully select sweaters based on their quality, condition, and appropriateness of the colors and patterns. Oftentimes, a sweater is an obvious animal or plant as soon as I see it.

My art plush are all one of a kind, designed by me, not made from patterns and are completely hand stitched. I may sketch out ideas on paper first or just start trimming away until it becomes the object I'm looking for. I love the process of creating these and get so excited with every finished product.

For all of my items I focus on quality and craftsmanship starting with the materials I choose to the techniques I use and careful inspection of my finished products. In addition to quality I am also concerned with the environmental impact of my art. I focus on reusing materials, sweaters and clothes as well as all the containers for my art plush. I carefully choose environmentally friendly stuffing materials including organic kapok stuffing and organic wool bolus sourced from the U.S.
