Welcome! My name is Linda and I am the designer behind The Merry Church Mouse. My passion is for creating colorful, fun, girls clothing which is both durable and age appropriate. My favorite items to create are one of a kind custom orders. I love the process of finding and combining fabrics and colors in new and creative ways. I love ruffles, embroidery and smocking and try to incorporate these into my designs whenever possible. Each piece takes several hours worth of dedication and attention to detail.

My inspiration began in the early '90s when I was working in the children's department of a large department store in Illinois. At that time, my sister's two daughters were young and I began creating things for them which were inspired by things that I saw in the store. I officially started The Merry Church Mouse in 2000 when a co-worker who had seen some of my work asked me to create a christening gown for her niece.

My tag line is "Celebrate Life in Irreverently Joyful Fashion". I believe that every day is a day to be cherished and that finding joy in the little things is important. This is where the inspiration for my name comes from. It is just the opposite from the "quiet as a church mouse" phrase. I envision a little mouse in the back of a church who is just so full of glee that he can't contain himself. That's how I want to try to live life. I try and reflect that by the fun styles and color combinations in my designs.
