Welcome

Latest News....Columbia Pictures has just purchased one of my paintings to appear in the upcoming motion picture "The Smurfs" starring Neil Patrick Harris. It will appear in the apartment of the main character. I am very excited to be included in this project.

I pride myself of exceptional customer service. My motto is "if you don't absolutely love the painting then don't buy it". Original artwork does not have to match your sofa or your walls it has to be something that moves you in some way. It has to speak to you and if it doesn't then look for something that does. I am sure you will find something in my beautiful store that touches you in some way.

What's In a Name? Many have asked what The Raw Canvas name means. The name of my business comes from two sources. The first one being I use raw beeswax to mix my own encaustic paints. Encaustic painting is my first love in artwork. The second is that I am a self-taught visual artist with no formal training in the arts. Hence, I am a raw artist working on canvas. That is how The Raw Canvas Gallery came to be.

Red is considered the most energetic of all the colors and thus is high in "chi". It is used to activate wealth. I use the color red in most of my paintings.

Please email any questions or concerns you may have about my work.

Payment

Paypal is the only method of payment. You can pay using your Visa or Mastercard via paypal.

If payment is not made within 24 hours of purchase the painting will be relisted for sale.

Please communicate with me if you have changed your mind so that it can be put up for sale again.

Shipping

I ship via Canada Post. I ship the next day after payment is received. Delivery time can vary depending on the destination and customs.

****Please allow 14 to 21 business days for delivery. Patience is key. If you would like faster shipping it will cost $20.00USD.

I take special care in packaging my paintings. They are bubblewrapped and placed into a custom size shipping box. Please be careful when unwrapping paintings. Do not use a knife or sharp object to cut the bubblewrap as you may damage the paintings. Do not let the packing tape stick to the painting as it may damage the surface.

If you are buying an Encaustic piece please do not leave in a hot car or trunk as it may damage the painting. Encaustic melts at 65 degrees celsius. So please keep this in mind.

Refunds and Exchanges

At this time we do not offer refunds or exchanges. Please be sure to measure your space before purchasing. Proper handling of the painting will prevent you from damaging the painting. Please do not store fine art in extreme hot or cold temperatures. This can cause cracking or other damage to the artwork. Please keep it out of the direct sunlight. Please be careful not to bang, scratch or chip the painting as encaustic can be very fragile.

Additional Policies and FAQs

People often ask "Will it melt?". The melting point of wax is between 160-180 degrees Fahrenheit, so if your paintings are melting your house is likely on fire. However as with any fine art, you should keep your paintings away from extreme heat and cold so do not hang anywhere that receives direct sunlight.

Avoid contact with sharp objects including fingernails as the surface of the painting is susceptible to scratching. Scratches cannot totally be removed without the artist’s intervention and minor scratches are best left alone.

When transporting your encaustic painting, the piece must be wrapped well. Wrap the work well in wax paper and bubble paper and box it. Do not leave it in your car for extended periods as heat buildup on a hot day could begin to melt the painting. Extreme cold can be almost as bad, as wax may separate from the braced panel.
