Hi, welcome to The Yellow Hobbit Handspun and Hand-dyed Fibers. All of the yarn in the store is hand spun by me, all of the roving is hand dyed by me, and some of the yarn is both hand spun and hand dyed by me.

If you make something cool out of roving or yarn you've bought from me, I would love to see pictures of your creations. Send them to me, and if you'd like I will blog about it (with a link to your blog or site or Etsy shop.)

All of the alpaca yarn in this shop comes from Adventure Farm, a small family-owned alpaca farm in Palmyra, Virginia. They're really great people, and they take very good care of their animals. Half of the proceeds of the sold yarn goes back to them, so by buying this yarn you are directly supporting them. Which is a good thing to do, since they've been hit kinda hard by the economy, and could use your help.

Although my colorways are not exactly reproducible, I can definitely make colorways similar to those that I've already dyed. If you don't need something precise (like a matching dyelot) and just want something based off a previous colorway, let me know, and I'll see what I can do.

Also, if you see a colorway of roving you like and would like to commission me to spin it into yarn for you, I'd be happy to do so; send me a message for details about pricing and whatnot.
