thistlehill's Shop Announcement

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted you to know that all my "girls" have gone to their new homes. We're keeping a couple of silly boys for company and to help with the yard work. We've finally decided, sad as it may be, that letting the herd go is the right thing to do. We're getting old, dang it. Never saw that coming!

But I'm still working away in the soap room and have opened a new Etsy shop. Thistle Hill is my herd name and it just seemed right to retire the name along with the herd. All my tried and true soaps and creams will at jennywrensoaps.etsy.com. I'm still making my milk soaps - using cow milk as well as goat milk, but always sweet whole milk and never canned or dried. And I'm adding soaps made with teas and aloe, too.

Thanks for supporting Thistle Hill through the years and I hope to see you at Jenny Wren Soaps.

Blessings,
Jenny Malone

In the high desert of southern Utah I tend a small herd of goats. A tough little group - have to be in this environment. But they thrive here and supply me with sweet, rich milk for my soap.

As you can imagine I put lot of time & effort into the milk part of my soap so I'm not willing to compromise on the other ingredients. Tweaking and changing over the years. Working out the perfect proportions of oils to get the right balance of conditioning and cleansing. Experimenting with combinations of essential or fragrance oils to get the scents just right. Combinations of shea butter, olive oil, coconut oil and more make my soap rich and decadant. Leaving your skin feeling soft and clean - not tight and irritated. I don't do exotic shapes or add any dyes or colorants. I put all my time and effort into making an honest, skin nurturing bar of soap. The only extra I splurge on is scent and I have found that aromatherapy can play a big role in the state of your mind. That's a well proven fact and important to your well-being. That's why, just like I do with my oils, the essential and fragrance oils that I use are the best quality I can find.
