Tree By Sea 3 features Fine Silver beads and findings for jewelry artists who want to use pure silver vs. sterling silver.

"Why FINE silver?"

It's more hyperallergenic - Fine silver is .999 pure silver, vs. .925 like sterling. Sterling silver contains copper &/or other metals. I have heard that many people who think they are alergic to silver may really alergic to the copper or other metals that may be added.

It tarnishes slower - The copper and other metals in Sterling oxydize faster than silver does, so pure fine silver tarnishes slower than sterling.

For purity of an art medium - PMC and Art Clay Silver artist use metal clay that is fine silver (.999). It makes sense to use findings that are the same high quality and same metal content to finish off the pieces.

Nice and soft - Fine silver is softer than sterling & cheap metals so it is a dream to make wrapped loops with fine silver head pins.

It's pretty - Fine silver is just so dang pretty.

It's greener - Because of the extra metals in sterling, harsh chemicals like pickling solutions must be used. This is not necessary with fine silver. It can be heated by kiln or torch withouth pickling.
