Welcome to Twink Ink Designs. I offer a variety of handpainted and hand dyed children's clothing from sizes newborn and up. The process begins with drawing designs and choosing color schemes. Approval must first be met by my two picky toddler daughters before any procedures begin. Upon approval, I begin by dyeing the 100% cotton white blank clothing using a process called garment dyeing. This is the process where any shrinkage takes place. After the clothing is dry, I hand draw the designs on each individual piece and begin to paint. The paints I use are non-toxic, chewable, slobber proof and soft to the touch. Items are not flame retardant and are not intended for sleepwear. Once the design is painted and dried, I heat-set the garment by ironing it on a cotton setting. The clothing than goes through a cycle in the washer and dryer to remove excess dye and to ensure that the paints have “fixed” to the fabric. Washing instructions:
Hand Wash or machine wash turned inside out. Use cold water and mild detergent. Line dry or dry flat.
