Anyway Didi measured the thread count of the pima cotton I use ,it comes out 140 x 140 just below perfect she said...So you are getting quality cotton in my fabric.
As written in the "april-May" issue of "Quilting Home"magazine. an article called "the uncuttables" asking Q-celebs to tell about "that one "jewel" fabric in there stash that they just couldn't cut. Jay Mc Carroll... Designer and Winner of the first "Project Runway" said:..."This Hand marbled fabric " It speaks for its self. Its wild and organic .its got great color and its nice and stiff" I have a hard time even bringing myself to unfold it, let alone put sissors to it!" ...end quote. Ahhh but you CAN cut it, Its very forgiving sews beautifully. My marbling is done on cotton and silk. I do not marble pre-made clothes. But I do have some, hand sewn by me, my seamstress, and oh and my MOM!..... My marbling is done on white fabric only (but you'd never know it ). If you've ever seen marbled cotton, most artists paint sits on the surface (which is the marbling technique), while my paints "become" the fabric, leaving no stiffness on the surface! ……………………………………………………………………….
