Welcome to my little home on etsy!
I will have some beautiful Arashi Shibori veils, one of a kind, hand dyed by me!

I am having a lot of fun with the arashi shibori technique. This is a kind of tie-dying which is traditionally from in Japan. It involves wrapping the silk around a pole or other cylinder, tightly wrapping it with string and over dying. The numerous ways to fold and pleat the silk results in endless beautiful linear patterns which are beautiful in motion on dance veils.

The pleated texture can also be semi-permanently set into the silk, I also offer textured silk scarves and shawls.

Each veil is made one by one, in my house and my kitchen, in small batches. Each veil is a unique exploration of color and texture. If you have a request for a custom scarf or veil color and pattern, please contact me to discuss your needs.
