Willow + Ford Design Co. has been a labor of love and patience. I have dabbled in many things in my life but never found a true creative calling. God has been placing this on my heart for the last year and I finally let go and let God. The story of my name is pretty cool when I look back on it. I wanted to honor my late mother (lost her to cancer 10 years ago) in some way. Her maiden name was Rutherford so I thought "Ford" could be cool. My twin sister is so helpful and always willing to give input and support. She sent me some word lists. I saw the word willow and thought, oh i love that! I have two words I liked but didn't think they went together. They seemed so random. I wrote it down and began making possible logos. Just wasn't "sold" on it. A few days later while still contemplating this name, I realized that Willow actually did mean something even though it wasn't apparent at first. I called my sister (who is in Guatemala by the way....thats a whole nother story), and said "hey, wasn't the tree in Meme's backyard that we always used to play under a willow tree?". We both realized at that moment how perfect this name is. I love the simplicity and the meaning behind these words. My hope is to share not only my art and creativity but to establish a community of people. I want to have an impact on others and share my story and God's grace and mercy. This is my platform and I am so very excited for this journey. Thanks for listening and hope you visit my shop again soon!
