For those of you who do know, we are a team of six. And three of us are family. We have just lost our grandmother on Thursday evening. It was very unexpected and your patience with us is very much appreciated as we take some time to mourne the loss of our grandmother. Thank you.

ATTENTION Prospective clients: In an effort to keep costs reasonable and affordable for you we are extending our guaranteed turn around time to eight weeks. This will help us to not need to raise prices in an effort to slow down orders. Your happiness is paramount here at Windows Treatments by Melissa and we will do our best to get you your treatments in a timely manner. We are a team of six and while everyone knows how to do flat roman shades, not everyone knows the more unique or specialty items, like ribbon shades. So in most cases, if you are ordering flat roman shades or panel curtains, your turnaround time should be sooner than eight weeks. But as everyone on our team has not yet learned the more specialty items, we ask for your patience as those of us that do them take the time necessary to ensure a quality product.

We keep in touch with you throughout production. You will be notified when your fabric arrives, when your project has been started and when your products ship. Mounting instructions for Roman Shades will come in the final conversation. If you have not been contacted yet after the conversation indicating receipt of fabric igt is probable that we have not begun your order.

ON SAFETY: As of November 2, 2011 our shades are in compliance with the Window Coverings Safety Standards with the use of an encased cord. The case is sewn into the shade which does not allow the cord to be pulled away from the shade. Read more about it on our November 2nd post on our facebook page where you will find pictures of the new casing and also how the shades look with this alteraion.

ON FABRIC: There are appropraite and innapropriate fabrics for window treatments. Please include a link to your fabric selection so we may approve it. I have accepted light weight materials in the past because the buyer had their "heart set on it." I made it clear the problems that come with light weight fabrics, but they insisted. And as a result their treatments ended up exactly as I had warned and I was unfairly given bad feed back as a result. Since I cannot risk my good name anymore I will no longer be doing treatments with light weight materials. If you "heart is set" on a fabric that is light weight I would invite you to look at other etsy vendors who might willing to take on the project.

FABRIC RECCOMENDATIONS: I recommend canvas, duck, medium weight linens, medium weight cottons, etc. Please include a link to your desired fabric or a description. If you would like help selecting a fabric I am happy to help!

Expedited Production Available for additional cost.
Expedited starts at $50 for one item (a set of two curtains is one item). It goes up by $5 for each additional item after that. For one item with expedited production you will receive it within 5 business days of receipt of fabric. Each additional item to the order will add on one more business day.
