Welcome! I love to pattern and dye fabric and I love beautiful, functional handmade things.

I start with white fabric made of natural materials and use resist processes and dye to saturate it with color and pattern and create beautiful products that you will love to use! All of my products are durable, constructed with high quality materials and well crafted. Everything in my shop is machine washable and will soften with use.

***ABOUT BATIK***
5 o’clock crows linen towels feature exclusive batik designs dyed in vibrant and saturated colors. I apply molten wax to the fabric, either by painting or by stamping. The fabric is then dyed, with the waxed areas blocking the dye and remaining white. If another color is required, the pattern is waxed and the fabric dyed again. This time, the waxed areas remain the color of the previous dyebath. Each subsequent color requires an additional waxing and dyeing process. Once the dying is complete, the fabric is boiled to remove the wax.

***ABOUT SHIBORI***
In shibori. the resist that creates the pattern is the fabric itself. Once I have dyed the base color, I manipulate the fabric by folding, pressing, sewing, or tying. The fabric is set in a dye bath that uses a much lower ratio of water to fabric than I use in batik. This way, the pattern is created as an interaction between the fabric and the dye. *** Please note that all of the nubs, imperfections and shadings are characteristic of the linen fabric and the hand-dyeing process. Because these items are handmade, there may be slight variations in color and pattern placement. This is not a detriment, but instead makes each piece unique!

Payment

I accept all major credit cards through Paypal. You do not need a Paypal account to use a credit card for payment.

All orders shipped to Louisiana will be charged sales tax.

Payment must be received within 5 business days of your order, otherwise I will cancel the transaction.

Shipping

All items are in stock and ready to ship unless otherwise noted in the item description.

All orders will be shipped within 3 business days of receipt of payment.

Please let me know if you have any special shipping considerations, such as gift wrapping, at the time of purchase by using the "Notes to Seller" space at checkout.

Your item will be shipped in a plastic bag so that it arrives in perfect condition. Most of my products are shipped in large envelopes. Please let me know if you prefer alternate shipping arrangements and I will be happy to help.

All US orders are shipped USPS First Class with delivery confirmation. You will receive your tracking information with your notice of shipment.

International customers, please note that buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred.

I will ship to your Paypal address unless you notify me otherwise at the time of purchase.

If you would like expedited service, an alternate carrier, insurance, or other services, please contact me before payment so that I can provide you with an adjusted invoice.

Refunds and Exchanges

I want your new textile to be happy in its new home! If your product arrives with damage or defects, I will be happy to exchange your item or refund your purchase.

*Please note that all of my pieces are created by hand. Variations in dye/pattern are expected and desirable results of the hand making process. These variations are part of the beauty of handmade products and not defects.*

If you need to return an item for any reasons other than damage or defect, please contact me within 3 days of the receipt of your purchase.

Refunds will be issued using Paypal, minus shipping costs, once I receive the items in the same condition in which they were when you received them. Delievery of returned pieces must occur within 60 days of the date of purchase. Buyer is responsible for return shipping and tracking costs.

Refunds will be in the form of in-store credit or Paypal only.

Custom orders require a 50% deposit which is non-refundable.
