Simple Scarves is living and breathing colour into handmade items for the fibre and yarn enthusiast, as well as for non-crafters who are interested in experiencing some handmade goodness. Each item is carefully put together, inspired by simple yet unique designs and colours of the land and the imagination.

I am originally from a hot tropical country in South East Asia called Malaysia, and am married to a wonderful man; consequently, I have been part of a journey that has taken me to many places away from my home. I exchanged a career in teaching & publishing for life as a SAHM. To kill time, I blog, knit and bake as well as cook. Now I spin, weave and dye as well.

I’m also what you’d call an indy (independent) dyer - I do everything alone and in small quantities. I produce about 9 to 12 rovings/yarn every two weeks - I’m hoping to increase the quantity but it’s still very much a WIP (Work In Progress)!

I would gladly keep the items I dye and weave for the shop to use for myself, if I had the space to store all of them!!!! Oh, you can also find me on Ravelry - my username there is thescarfer - and if you aren’t on Ravelry yet, you ought to be (www.ravelry.com).

Most of my items here are unique and one-of-a-kind, but if you need more of the same item, let me know and we’ll see how it goes.

Payment

Currently, I accept payments via PayPal; you can also use PayPal as a gateway for credit card payments. For more information, do visit the PayPal site (www.paypal.com). Payments must be paid within three (3) calendar days of purchase or the item will be re-listed.

For Singaporean buyers, I accept bank transfers. Upon confirmation of order, I'll inform you of the necessary details and the item(s) will be shipped upon receipt of payment (bank transfer).

If you need a special arrangement, please let me know before you make a purchase and I will try to be flexible. If you check back often and you see something else you'd like before I have shipped something you recently bought, let me know and I will combine items so you can save on postage.

Shipping

I usually ship out items via Singapore Post. Estimate delivery time frames from the shipped date are from anywhere between 3 to 10 working days depending on your location.

I do offer faster shipping options for those who don't mind waiting - just buzz me for more info!

And yes, I do international shipping!

I can ship items as gifts, secret pal exchanges and swaps. Please let me know if you wish to attach a gift tag or gift message along with the item.

Refunds and Exchanges

If you are unhappy with an item, I'd appreciate some feedback on how I can improve it. All items photographed are processed to ensure the nearest possible similarity to the item in real life but monitors differ in the way they portray colours so it's not 100% sure. If you'd like another picture of the item, do let me know and I'll send you another photo using different lighting or editing.

I will only accept returns on a case-by-case basis AND done within seven (7) days upon receipt of item. I also am willing to discuss or provide more information regarding the item(s) purchased. Please feel free to contact me if you need more information!

►► Once items are in the mail, they are out of my control and I CANNOT be held responsible for items lost in transit. Usually if it takes longer than three weeks to arrive, please be patient and wait a little longer. Chances are it's being held up at Customs or the postman is just taking longer than usual for a variety of reasons that only s/he knows. If your area is known for parcels and post going AWOL or missing, don't risk it and please contact me for a quote on registration & tracking.

Additional Policies and FAQs

My fibres, yarn and scarves come from a cat & dog free home, non-smoking home and are washed with soap meant for woollen items, then stored with lavender to discourage pests.

Each fibre & yarn is unique due to the fact that it is handpainted and goes through the steaming process. I use professional grade acid dyes and the colours have been fixed to not bleed when washed. Note that there will be slight variations in the intensity of the colour, if you're purchasing more than one lot of the same colourway.
