MissMeander's Shop Policies
Welcome
I opened this business in 2004 after I had eagerly received my business license in the mail. I strode into a jewelry shop in the city with high hopes and no idea what I was doing. I had a little cookie box filled with napkin protected ear wrap samples and a backpack of supplies to demonstrate my technique. An hour later, I walked back out with an empty box, my wraps in the front window and a huge smile on my face!
Three years, different retail store experiences and over 100 completely unique and original ear wrap and accessory designs later, I joined Etsy in 2007. I'm quite happy to be here! It's a great community and a great forum for all kinds of amazing art.
Meandrous exists for two reasons: The first is because I love making and sharing art and I love when I make something and someone else simply -must- have it! <3 In short, making art makes me whole. The second is that being in business allows me to make money that I can donate to charities. Giving back to others and doing what I can to help the world around me is a driving and important motivation in my life.
Thanks to every customer! Donations have been made to:

Refunds and Exchanges
Orders are sent in compact, secure cardboard and supported with tissue and bubble wrap. Despite this, damage that occurs because of the folly of the post may sometimes be unavoidable.
Should you receive your order and find that through some mistake in packaging or shipping, your item has been damaged, please contact me and we'll discuss the best way to correct the situation. It's my goal that you are happy with your delivery.
If you have any concerns regarding your order- including, but not limited to those described above- please contact me within the first few days of receiving so I can help you. After 7 days, if I have heard nothing, I consider the order completed and any shipping complaints may not be honored and you'll have to discuss your concerns with the postal delivery service from that point.
Should you decide you have simply changed your mind, because of the nature of worn items, I'm afraid I cannot accept returns for health reasons. I'm sorry. Please be sure to discuss any concerns you might have before ordering.
Always 'convo' with any questions or concerns or in regards to special cases. Don't be shy. : )
Additional Policies and FAQs
FAQ:
Q: Can you make anything other than ear wraps in this style?
A: Yes! I have made candle wraps, sconces, wrapped mirrors, anklets, brow headdresses, hair coils, special hair pieces, rings, brooches, business card holders, picture frames, napkin rings, cell phone charms, and more. Wire art can be used in countless ways and my floral wires are not limited to ear wraps. I don't actually consider myself an ear wrap artist. (They just happen to be something I particularly love making!) What I attempt to present in my shop is not one kind of jewelry but an interpretation of nature in all different forms using wire and floral components as a medium for that expression. If you have an idea you'd like to see me attempt in my wire style, please tip me to your idea. <3
Q: Can you teach me how to make tsumami kanzashi?
A: A good deal of what you might want to know to get started is in a video I've created at youtube(dot)com/MeandrousArt
Q: Can you make me a custom design? Something like (specific design) you made, but a little bit different for my special event?
A: Yes. :)
Q: How do ear wraps hold up to damage?
A: Ear wraps are surprisingly resilient. They can be taken on and off frequently, even dropped with no damage. Should they become bent, it's very likely an easy bend to replace their shape. This being said however, please treat them as you would a piece of jewelry you hold dear. Put them somewhere safe when not wearing. The bottom of a purse or backpack is not a good place for them. I'm willing to do repair on a piece that may have fallen victim to accidental damage, but crushed roses will very likely never look the same and would need to be completely replaced.
Q: What about water damage? What if it rains?
A: No problem. Because they are made of covered wire, fabric, and paper, even a heavy rain will be no problem. Just take off your wrap and place it somewhere it won't be disturbed to dry out naturally.
Q: Do they have certain sizes?
A: I never realized how different ears were until I started making these. :) Everyone's ear is a different size and so wraps are made in a universal adult size. It's a "one size fits all" situation. The wraps have a 'C' shape that fits behind the ear. If you have a smaller ear, you can just pinch it closed little. A larger ear means you would expand the 'C'. Once fitted, it will stay that way.
Q: Can I bend one of these wraps down small enough for a child?
A: You probably could, but they're designed for adult ears so it may not be as comfortable on a child. Contact me about recreating one for a child's ear. :) I'm more than happy to.
Q: I don't have an ear lobe/I have a unique ear. Can I still wear a wrap?
A: Yes! I have fitted wraps for people with specially shaped ears. I may be able to fit one for you if you send me a picture of your ear. Convo me and let me know your needs and I'll see if I can help you. <3
