Hi! I'm Nikki, and for lack of a better word, I'm the wand maker here at Ribbon Wands and I absolutely love what I do!!

I have always had a passion for simple play. Making a fort out of blankets and boxes, the joy of a wooden block tower and the simple fun of raiding Mom's jewelery box for an afternoon of dress-up fun! Ribbon Wands has been born out of this same philosophy about play; that the best toy is a simple toy.

It can't get much more simple than a wand and ribbon, but when the two are combined, you have a toy that begs to be played with. A toy that encourages movement, personal expression, and an immediate invitation to have fun!

Payment

I do offer discount pricing on multiple orders of 10+ various 1.5" wide Ribbon Wand on a patterned base. Please contact me if this is what you need.

I do not send my product until payment is received in full.

Shipping

Please note I am located in Canada.

Shipping time averages at 10 business days (M-F) and I encourage all customers to allow a minimum of 3 weeks from purchase time for the product to reach you. I have no control over the postal service, but what I can promise is due diligence on my end with packaging, labeling and shipping your product clearly and in a timely manner. Contact me (through Etsy conversations) if you have not received your purchase in the recommended time frame and I'll do all I can to set the situation right.

Standard Shipping destinations for the Ribbon Wand shop are: Canada, US, UK and Australia. If you live in any other country, please contact me and I will look into costs on your behalf. I welcome global buyers and can ship anywhere the law will allow. For orders of 5 wands or more, I offer reduced shipping (as of October 20, 2008).

Faster Shipping: Often people want their items to reach them quickly. The cheapest cost for this service at my disposal is $23.00 for orders of 1-10 Ribbon Wands. It takes 6 business days. I do not offer any faster services.

Shipping status: I communicate that an item has been shipped in the "Your Etsy" feature. In the "Purchases" category your purchase from my store will have the status marked as shipped when, and only when, the item has been shipped and I have the receipt in hand.

Ribbon Wands are shipped Monday - Friday via air mail, using Canada Post.

Please make sure your Etsy address information is correct because that is where I'll be shipping your item.

Customs and Taxes that relate to shipping are the responsibility of the buyer.

(CHRISTMAS SHOPPERS)
Be sure to order your Ribbon Wand by December 8th, to ensure it's Christmas arrival. Orders made after this date, will still be sent out promptly, but please note that Ribbon Wands assumes no responsibility for delivery in time for Christmas.

Refunds and Exchanges

Ribbon Wands will replace any items that have been damaged in shipping. A digital photograph of the Ribbon Wand, confirming and documenting the damage, is required.

(ITEMS LOST IN SHIPPING)
If you have not received your wand package within 4 weeks of ordering your item, I will happily replace your wand. My goal is to get the wand in your possession so you can start enjoying it. If you require another solution, contact me, we can talk and find a situation that works.

I do not provide refunds or exchanges on custom orders.

Additional Policies and FAQs

(SAFETY)
In Design - The new laws and regulations from CPSIA and also my local Canadian toy making laws are laws and procedures that I will be complying with. I am currently in the process of creating more informative and specific safety guidelines for my product and will be having my hardware tested and certified.

Safety is something I take very seriously. Ribbon Wands were originally meant for children 5 years and older, I believe that the CPSIA law will require that they be marketed for children 8+. Please teach all children that play with and around the Ribbon Wand that the ribbon is not to be wrapped around body parts, worn as necklaces or tied around their bodies in any way. Supervision is recommended for children and good counsel from parents, guardians and caregivers is needed to support proper play and safety.

Be mindful of young children that may also play around Ribbon Wands, as the length of ribbon far exceeds what a young child should be playing with. I encourage a safe storage area for the Ribbon Wand, safely away from any young children who could be harmed in anyway by the length of ribbon, hardware (small parts) or wand base.

(CUSTOM ORDERS)
Custom Orders are the heart of Ribbon Wands. Please contact me if you are interested in a custom order. I have done over 100 weddings, but please note that I do not make the ribbon wavers used for celebrating as the bride and groom leave the church, these can be purchased through other retailers online at a much more affordable rate than I could offer.

Due to the specific nature of custom orders, they are non-refundable items. Custom Orders require longer time lines for gathering materials and creating the product. 6 weeks prior to the event date is my standard time requirement.

I don't work a 9 - 5 schedule, but I do check my Etsy account every week day. However, I do not work on Sundays and any requests that come late Saturday or on Sunday will be addressed on Monday. I appreciate your patience!

I'm also convo friendly to other sellers on Etsy. If you have something to pass on, feel free, I don't bite.
