Welcome
Lampworking, or flameworking, is a very old technique used to make glass beads. The work is done using a torch, glass rods, various tools and a kiln. Each bead is made individually and annealed in the kiln, which allows the glass to harden and cool slowly. The beads are pretty sturdy once they come out of the kiln, so they do not break easily.
Glass beads have always been made in many parts of the world, and used for many purposes. Glass artists working today around the world are continually developing techniques and designs using new and old methods of working the glass.
Each piece of jewelry is unique, with individually crafted beads and sterling silver findings and wire. Each piece of jewelry that is for sale is also unique, although sometimes a design or color scheme will be repeated or used in a different way. Jewelry is available on a first-come first-served basis.
