butterflygirldesigns's Shop Policies
Welcome
Welcome to my shop!! I'm so glad you decided to stop by. I had moved all the information from my announcement here when policies were first set up, but when I was checking something today (6/14/08), I noticed that everything had been deleted. I hope this has not caused confusion for anyone.
Payment
I can only take paypal. I would appreciate it if you could pay for your purchase within 3 days. If you need longer, please convo me, I am always happy to work with you!!
Shipping
I try to ship your item within 3 days. I usually card my batts when you order them, so please allow me this time to ship your item.
I prefer to ship priority mail. However, if you wish me to ship first class, please convo me for a shipping quote. i typically ship Internation items by first class. However, I cannot print postage for international first class shipping from my computer, but have to go into the post office to purchase this. Since I work a full time job as well, it may be several days before I can mail your international first class item.
Refunds and Exchanges
I am happy to accept returns within 10 days after your receipt of your purchase. Please convo me if you wish to make a return. I will refund your purchase price and original shipping, but you will be responsible for return shipping costs.
I try to pack my items with care and mark spindles as fragile, but sometimes the post office is not gentle with packages. If your spindle arrives damaged, please let me know and I will see what I can do to send you a replacement part or fix your spindle.
If you discover a defect (which is not due to misuse or abuse) on one of my spindles within the first 60 days after the date of your purchase, please let me know. I will attempt to either repair or send replacement parts for your spindle.
Additional Policies and FAQs
Information on my spindles:
I get a lot of questions about whether or not my spindles will break. If they are dropped hard enough, some of them will definitely break.
For the stone and glass spindles, to be safe, you should only spin over carpet. I have not had a problem with the stone or glass on hardwood, but if dropped from high enough, it is possible they may break.
The whorl on the shell, resin and polymer clay will probably not break if dropped, but, as with any spindle, may be chipped.
My spindles spin smoothly, however they have relatively small whorls and most are not rim weighted (although the cut of some of the stones, resin and glass do make the spindle more rim weighted). This means that you may have to start the spindle respinning for each length you spin before you wind on. I generally can spin to the floor on most of them without restarting, but a lot depends upon how fast you draft and how well prepared your fiber is. Most of my spindles spin very fast.
I am happy to do custom orders for both fiber and spindles.
Spindles: I have a lot of choices for spindles: stone, glass, shell, resin, polymer clay. I would be happy to try to create a spindle for you.
Fiber: If I have the materials, I am happy to try to create a batt to your specifications. I use glitz in a lot of my batts, but I am happy to card one for you without the glitz, if you prefer.
In order to try to prevent any "critters" from getting in my fibers, I store all my fibers in large plastic zipper bags. My fiber goes from the carder immediately into a plastic zipper bag.
