Welcome

I am a 30-something mother to my sweet baby daughter Lucy. We spend our days designing and sewing clothes, toys and accessories (Lucy provides the inspiration, and she is the sample size baby).

Everything at Lucy's Place is designed and constructed by me from scratch using professional pattern-making methods. Sometimes it takes many paper pattern tweaks and cuttings to get the desired effect, and my little daughter is very patient with fittings and photo shoots. She test wears every design too. What a busy wee lady.

All internal seams in each garment are finished at the very least with overlocking (serging) and rolled hems, and some designs have French seams to create a neat and durable garment.

When designing children’s clothes I take into consideration the comfort and wearability of a garment. If I'm not happy with Lucy wearing it, and nor her, then it won't make it in to the shop.

Payment

Lucy’s Place accepts Paypal, credit card payments and e-checks. Regardless of your method of payment, at checkout click on ‘Pay Using Paypal’.

If you wish to pay by credit card, look for the area that says ‘Don’t have a Paypal account? Pay using your credit card’. Easy!

Once payment is received (and cleared, in the case of e-checks) I will add your order to the production schedule.

Shipping

All orders are shipped via NZ Post International Airmail, with arrival times anywhere from aproximately 3-10 business days depending on where you live in the world.

I ship to your Etsy address. If you would like your order shipped to another address please inform me at time of order, or immediately after.

Please bear in mind that I am not only a creator of 'petit' garments, but also a mother to Lucy, and as such I cannot sew 24 hours per day (as much as I would love to!).

All said and done, I make all orders a priority so rest assured I will be doing everything I can to get these to you in the fastest possible time.

Orders up to a total of NZ$250, including shipping, are insured by our postal system. Wonderful!

If you have a parcel totalling more than $250, it will not be insured for loss. In this case you are able to purchase full insurance (up to $1,500) for NZ$10 (at current exchange rates, USD$6). This is NZ Post's flat rate cost.

All costs on arrival such as local taxes are the buyer's responsibility.

Refunds and Exchanges

I will gladly offer you an exchange or return, less shipping costs, so long as the item is in the same unused condition as when it was purchased. In the event of a return please contact me within 3 days of receiving your garment(s).

For re-sale reasons I will not be able to accept garments made to a customer's measurements, so where possible please consider choosing a general size. However I do want you to be thrilled with your purchase, so will strive for a happy resolution.

All listed prices are wholesale.


GARMENT CARE

I love working with natural fibres including pure
cottons, linens, wool and silk. If a garment requires special care I will make a special note of it with the garment.

For the majority of garments, simply machine wash cool or warm inside out, and line dry inside out too. You may also pop it in the dryer on low, but I recommend air-drying for the longevity of the garment.
