Allysart's Shop Policies
Welcome
Welcome to Ally's Art. I make Precious metal clay jewelry that is 99.9% fine silver when finished.
My goal is to please both you and myself with the jewelry that I make. All of my jewelry is handcrafted by me. The major components of my work are made by me, through rolling, cutting, filing, texturing and sculpting metal clay. Other components such as clasps, jump rings and some beads are commercially produced.
Payment
Payment is accepted through PayPal. I also take credit cards, personal checks and money orders. If paying by check or money order, please allow an extra two weeks for delivery. Your check must clear the bank before the item is shipped. PLEASE NOTE THAT PA RESIDENTS MUST ADD 6% SALES TAX TO THE PRICE.
Shipping
As soon as payment clears, your item will be shipped within 5-7 business days. I usually ship within a day or two. IF for some reason I can not ship it out that soon, I will let you know. I travel quite frequently and will not be available to ship when I'm gone
I will automatically insure your piece when shipped. Please be sure to have someone available to sign for the piece. If you do not desire insurance, let me know but I cannot be responsible for items that are not insured. (Not having insurance does not reduce the shipping charges.)
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be pleased with your purchase. If you have a problem, please contact me first to see if we can resolve it. I will gladly exchange a piece for you or refund your purchase price minus any costs for shipping and fees. With proper care and normal use, your piece should last a long time.
Additional Policies and FAQs
With normal wear and tear, I will guarantee my work for 1 year from date of purchase. Repairs on any work are free, you just have to pay the shipping to me and I will pay the shipping back to you.
Metal clay is 99.9% fine silver. Fine silver is softer than sterling silver, but does not contain copper which some people have a reaction to.
I recommend that the rings not be worn on a daily basis (although I wear mine every single day with no problems and so does my husband.) As with gold, fine silver rings can distort. That is why all my rings have fairly wide bands and are thick enough to withstand most daily pressure. (Just don't go lifting weights with them on. That is how my husband has ruined some of his gold bands. Finally got him trained to take them off.)
As with any metal, if dropped it will dent and could possibly break. (Which happens very rarely as I fire my pieces for the maximum temperature and time.)
Just like sterling, fine silver will tarnish and can be cleaned with a commercial polishing cloth. If your piece has a patina on it, DO NOT CLEAN WITH A LIQUID SILVER CLEANER. The patina will be removed.
Contact with the air is what makes the silver tarnish. When not wearing your jewelry, store it in a plastic bag to slow down the oxidation process.
Do not wear your jewelry in water, while doing heavy duty exercise or household chores.
Care should be taken when cleaning gemstones. Clean with soap and water
Pearls should not be cleaned with a commercial cleaner. Gently wipe pearls with a damp cloth.
If you see something that is sold, contact me about making something similar. (No two pieces will ever be exactly the same.) Or if you would like a custom piece let me know and we will see what we can work out.
