Welcome to The Collared Canine!
The Collared Canine is a one woman operation based out of my home, here in Somerville, Mass. I strive to make beautiful and fun functional doggie items, that look good, work well, and stand up to everyday dog life.

Custom requests are more than welcome. Although I have a large inventory of already made items, I am happy to work with you to create just what you're looking for.

Payment

I accept Paypal as well as personal checks. Paypal payment is preferred simply because it's easier for me and quicker for you. I request that payment be made within 3 days of purchase.

Shipping

I am offering Free Shipping within the USA on all collars and leashes. These items will ship USPS first class mail, if combined weight is less than 13 oz, or Parcel post if more than 13 oz.
Please note: almost all items are less than 13oz.

Most orders will ship within 3 business days.

Although I have a great base of Canadian customers, I'm not able to offer free shipping to Canada at this time. But please join my mailing list via the link to my website, free Canadian shipping is coming! Thanks

Refunds and Exchanges

Refunds and exchanges are accepted on shop inventory.
There is a no refund policy on custom orders.
Items purchased with free shipping, and returned will be refunded, minus a $3.75 fee, to cover shipping costs.

I've found that most returns are a result of sizing issues. So please take a minute to measure your dog, so that the collar or leash you are purchasing will work well for both of you.

Martingale Collars

All collars are now available as martingale collars, both chain and nylon as well as all nylon construction.

What is a Martingale Collar?
A martingale collar is a specialized type of dog collar that helps prevent a dog from slipping out of their collar. Martingale Collars have 2 loops. The smaller of the loops is called the control loop. This is the portion of the collar that is attached to the leash and tightens when it is pulled. The second loop is the part of the dog collar that you adjust to the correct size to fit your dog.
Martingale Dog collars are also known as Greyhound Collars or Humane Choke Dog Collar. The Martingale Dog Collar was designed for sight hounds because their necks are larger than their heads and they can often slip out of buckle collars. These collars have gained popularity among other breed owners in the recent past with many trainers now recommending them instead of choke chains or choke collars because they prefer the humane choke aspects.
