Welcome to The Secret Pocket's *Fair Isle Fiber & Design* shop, the woolly aspect of my home business. I am a professional dressmaker as well as an avid knitter and spinner.

I am a spindler, not a wheelie. For that reason I like to purchase smaller amounts of wool for my spinning. I often spin 1 ounce quantities of Shetland into fingering weight yarns that I then add to my ever-developing Fair Isle color stash.

Shetland is the preferred fiber for Fair Isle knitting. It's also great for felting. *And* it's an ideal fiber for the beginning spinner...it has the perfect staple length and just enough crimp. And I also have to confess that I like Shetland because they are a fairly un-genetically-messed-around-with breed, having remained essentially the same for centuries. Oh, and they’re cute.

Additional Policies and FAQs

Please note that if you choose to pay with an e-check via PayPal it takes about a week to clear. I don't mind at all if you pay that way, but I do generally hold feedback until the check clears, especially since I do not delay shipping for e-checks.
