Welcome

I started Urban Eden with a soap display at my local Farmers' Market. Since then it's grown to include deodorants, salves, I've been making soap and selling it at farmers markets for several years now. From the beginning, I've used only the finest and most natural ingredients. I use a higher percentage of olive oil than most soapmakers, because I want my soap to be the best soap possible. I also use shea butter in all my soaps. And I add enough palm oil to make the bars hard and long-lasting, enough coconut oil to lather and clean well (but not enough to be drying), and just enough castor oil to really boost the lather. I never use synthetic fragrance oils, only essential oils. My soaps's beautiful, subtle color comes from ingredients like clays, spices, henna or organic carrot juice. I won't even use mineral pigments because they are sometimes contaminated. I'm proud to say that my customers tell me how wonderful my soap is, and how much they notice the difference if they run out and have to use a different soap. I even have one customer who is a soapmaker herself! She says my Far Out soap is the only soap she's ever used in place of her own good handmade soap.

Although I began my business with soap, more recently I've been making other things which are useful and which leave a small footprint. I make an effective, natural aluminum-free deodorant. (My family has Alzheimer's on both sides, so we don't want to absorb aluminum through our pores.) I started making body butter because my husband gets dry skin in the winter, and was using awful, chemical-laden moisturizers. And I've been making all sorts of things from magazines and plastic bags which my customers have donated to me. Eventually they will make their way here to Etsy.

Whether you know me from my markets and craft shows, or whether you've discovered me here at Etsy, thank you so much for visiting my shop!

Payment

Urban Eden happily accepts PayPal, checks and money orders. I will normally ship within 24 hours of receiving your payment.

If you are paying by PayPal, I will hold an item for you for three days waiting for payment. If you are paying by check or money order, I will hold an item for one week waiting for your check to arrive. I will ship within 24 hours of your check clearing.

Once in a great while, I might sell out of an item at a market only to come home and see that I've also sold the item here at Etsy. If that happens, I will contact you immediately and offer you your choice of a full refund or exchange.

Shipping

USP first class for one or two bars of soap, priority for three or more bars, or for packages weighing less than 12 oz. Do you need it faster? Let me know and I'll adjust the shipping price accordingly.

I normally ship Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. However, it is possible for me to ship any day except Saturdays when I am busy with my farmers' market. Let me know if you're in a rush!

Refunds and Exchanges

I'll do my best to package everything safely, but if your Urban Eden order arrives damaged I'll refund your money.

Additional Policies and FAQs

I'm sorry I don't do wholesale or consignment orders. The cost of my ingredients is too high for me to drop my prices that much.
