jeniferglagowski's Shop Policies

Welcome

Thank you for supporting my artistic endeavors. I believe that if you do what you love and focus on what makes you feel good and positive, then the positive energy created in those experiences will resonate with others. I create my artwork with happiness. Only positive energy has gone into these pieces. Seriously! I actually stopped mid-pendant making one day when I realized I was grumpy.

Payment

I accept personal checks, money orders and PayPal. If you don't have PayPal it is very easy to set up an account. I will consider second borns (first borns are over-rated).

Possible carriers are USPS, USP, FedEx, DHL and the like. It really depends on what is best for the item and is most convenient for me on any given day.

Refunds and Exchanges

I currently do not provide refunds* and I will consider exchanges. Please read the item descriptions carefully regarding size, materials, colors, framing, etc. and then contact me should you have any further questions before you buy.

*If there happens to be an error on my part I ask for your forgiveness and I shall do everything in my power to correct the mistake.

Please understand I am one person creating one-of-a-kind art. I wrap and ship carefully and I do not have the power to control damage or loss once an item leaves my possession. If you do not receive you item please let me know and I will investigate through my shipping agent.

Additional Policies and FAQs

Q: The color you used to describe your painting doesn't look like that color to me. What color is it really?
A: Good question. I very often mix my own original colors rather than using colors straight from the tube, therefore, the name of the color is arbitrary. Also, my monitor and your monitor may depict colors in a different way. I continually try to take better and more accurate photos of my work. If the exact color is very important to you, please convo me and I will be more than happy to provide more photos.

Q: Do you accept commisions?
A: Yes. Please see my "Request Custom Item" section.

Q: Are your paintings a good investment?
A: Depends on what you mean by investment. If you mean, "Will your paintings appreciate so much in price that when I resell the one I bought I'll be able to pay off my student loans and buy that second house?"...I truly have no way of knowing. However, if you are attracted to my paintings because they bring you some sense of peace, calm, positivity, happiness or the like, then I would have to say that buying your very own piece would reinforce that these are feelings you want to have in your life. To me that is a good investment.

Q: I really like your work. Do you do anything else?
A: Thank you very much! Yes, I do have other pieces that are different than what is shown here. Find them on this website: http://g.jenifer.googlepages.com/

Q: How long did it take you to hike the Appalachian Trail and weren't you afraid?
A: It took me 6 months, 3 weeks and 2 days to hike the 2,167.1 mile A.T. No, I wasn't afraid.

Q: Are you really a bird nest finder? Is that a volunteer job?
A: Yes. No, I get paid cold, hard cash.

Q: How does one become a bird nest finder?
A: Love of the outdoors (including cold, heat, snakes, bugs, poisonous plants and rain), an ear for birdsong, a pair of binoculars and the ability to move through the forest like a gazelle (okay...it often sounds more like a drunk elephant).

Q: Are you really a ski and snowboard instructor?
A: Yeah, dude! I'm totally a two-planker but I've been known to be a knuckle-dragger as well. Check out my website (http://skiwithjen.googlepages.com/)...it's totally not finished because I wanted to hit up some sweet freshies before the gapers were out and the groomers turned the pow into cord.

Q: I really like your stuff and want to post one of your paintings on my [blog, myspace, etc.] but does that infringe on copyright laws?
A: You can check out Etsy's link on the topic here: http://www.etsy.com/copyright_policy.php. And you can check out the U.S. government's laws here:
http://www.copyright.gov/
But in the meantime, if you like one of my paintings I don't mind you blogging it, I just ask that you credit me as your source. Unfair use would be marketing as your own, or as mine, and profiting from it.

Q: What materials do you use and where are they from?
A: Materials used are typically listed on the item page. I currently have purchased all of my materials for my paintings and pendants at local art suppliers or larger retail arts and crafts stores. I use Sculpey brand polymer clay for my pendants. I get the cardboard for my ACEOs from packing material found in items I buy for other reasons...thus reusing the packing material for art! I had my notecards professionally printed and chose the company based on a friend's experience. However, once I sell out of my notecards I plan on finding a company that uses recycled material and the least harmful inks possible.
