TheCrayonBin's Shop Policies
Welcome
After watching elementary school teachers throw boxes and boxes of crayons into the trash at the end of the school year I asked why and they told me that come September the kids would not use the old crayons they want new ones. So in February of 2003 TheCrayonBin.com was born.
Our main goal is to keep crayons out of landfills. This year the Crayola Company will produces nearly 3 billion crayons. (As reported on their “Fun Facts” page on the Crayola.com website)
How many of those will end up in our landfills each year? It my not seem like a lot but more likely then not whether your kids are young or older you probably have a bin or container at home filled with crayons. And once you get tired of looking at them and the kids are to old for them what will you do with them? Probably discard them into the trash for lack of another use. Well if you are throwing them out then so are your neighbors. This is one item that does not have to take up space in our landfills.
In most cases kids use less then 10% of the crayon before banishing it to the bottom on the crayon bin never to be used again. Can you think of any other consumable product that we would allow our kids to use less then 10% of then throw it in the trash? Makes you think doesn't it...
We do donate crayon sets to a number of local and nation organizations like:
The Ronald McDonald House, Shriner’s Hospital, CJSBus.org and the Sydney Mae Taylor Foundation.
We do not add or take anything away during the processing of the making the crayons so they are as safe as your everyday crayons.
TheCrayonBin is an Eco-friendly shop:

:::Of course the crayons are recycled. (Never new)
