ABOUT THE SCARVES
Double-sided velvet scarves get tangled and are difficult to style. Dayburner scarves are simply one piece of velvet with either hand-rolled or in-house machine sewn hems. (Which type is always included in the description of the item.)
But one thing is always true: one side is the velvet pile side. The other side is the back of the velvet, which is the silk side. Both sides are hand-painted and sometimes stamped or printed. If there is only one in stock, then it truly is one of a kind.
If you love color, then you will love these scarves. I use a lot of it when designing and painting them. I use natural, available light when shooting them to capture the best possible representation of color. However, colors still may look differently on your monitor then on mine so I try to provide the best written description of it that I can.
New designs in the pipe: More stripes! And linoleum block-printed wind turbines you'll see on both the scarves and the napkins.
CARE AND CLEANING
Scarves can be dry cleaned to preserve the life of the cloth. However, if you are against that, hand-wash in cool water using a mild detergent with a pH below 7, such as Dr Bronner’s Castille Soap available at health food stores. Do not use Woolite. Tumble dry on low or hang to dry.

ABOUT THE CLOTH NAPKINS
These napkins are handmade in every aspect of the process in small, limited batches. The way you fold the napkin will emphasis different features of the design, which is achieved by using an advanced dyeing process that creates a halo around the pattern. Napkins measure 17" x 17" and are machine sewn in house.
RECLAIMED COTTON SHEETING
Dayburner is particularly interested in recycling/upcycling/reusing materials when possible. One of our favorite things to do is to "restore" sheets and linens found at estate sales and thrift stores. Check the description of the item to see if the item you are interested is made of this type of cloth.
CARE AND CLEANING
Machine wash with similar colors. Tumble dry or hang dry if you like. Ironing makes them extra pretty.
Payment
Paypal is preferred. Money orders and checks are cool, too. Shipment occurs when funds are deposited and checks clear.
Your payment needs to be completed within 7 days of purchase otherwise your order will be cancelled.
Shipping
and -don't forget- Handling:
I ship to the address listed on your Etsy receipt, not your Paypal address. Please convo me if the shipping address is different.
I send via USPS with delivery confirmation. To cut down on gas consumption and multiple trips to the post office, I mail Wednesdays and Saturdays.
International orders are accepted.

The story of the Lotus Scarf
A couple of years ago I designed a scarf in my South Bronx studio, similar to the type you see here: Silk/Rayon blend, 11" x 60", hand-rolled hem. I sold it to a colleague named Lotus. The scarf was a big hit! That season everyone kept coming up to me saying, "I want one like Lotus!" I had one more like Lotus; but I had to keep it so I could figure out how I made it!
So here in my studio in West Texas, I have tried to recreate the perfect Lotus. I am getting closer!
