Welcome to my shop!

Hello. My name is Laurie, and I'm a painting addict. If there were twelve-step programs for painters, I'd be a ripe candidate.

I call what I do "painting the light" because my paintings reflect my passion for light and shadow and their effects on the landscape, particularly on buildings. As a self-taught artist, I paint what I feel in my heart. Every scene I choose to paint has struck some deep emotional chord in me, and I try to infuse my work with that same strong emotion. I believe that if I'm able to invoke that feeling in just one other person, I've done my job well. I use vivid color because it reflects the world as I see it, and helps me to create the drama that elicits those heightened emotions in the viewer.

Although I paint in the realism style, my goal is not technical perfection, but rather emotional resonance. I want people to view my paintings and feel something of what I felt as I was painting them.

Payment

At the current time, I accept PayPal only. Payment is expected upon completion of order. If, after three days, payment is not received (or payment arrangements made), I may cancel the order and relist the item.

Maine residents must add 5% sales tax.

Shipping

Except for commmissioned pieces, upon receipt of payment, I will ship the item within three business days.

All quoted shipping costs are for U.S. only. I will also ship internationally; please contact me regarding shipping costs for orders from outside the U.S. PLEASE NOTE: Buyer is responsible for any fees (including customs fees) related to international shipping.

Refunds and Exchanges

If, upon receipt of your painting, you are for some reason dissatisfied, please contact me immediately, and I will furnish you with instructions for returning the item. As soon as I receive the returned item in its original condition, I will refund the purchase price, minus shipping costs. If you return an item for refund, the cost of shipping it back to me is your responsibility.

I do not accept returns on custom house portraits, as they are not something I can re-sell. However, I want my customers to be happy with their purchases, so I will e-mail a photo of your house portrait for your final approval prior to shipping.

Additional Policies and FAQs

The original painting becomes the property of the buyer. The seller retains all rights to digital images, including the right to reproduce as prints and to use the image for promotional purposes.
