Thanks so much for spending some time Glint-ing!

All Glint Gear bags and pouches are made with tons of care, time and fun by me in the awesome smoke-free home studio called Liquid Star Base that I share with my husband Ocean and our cat Spirit in beautiful South Austin, Texas. PROCESS:

There are many steps to the birth of Glint Gear, and it can be quite a lengthy labor of love! First, I play with artists acrylic paint and medium on large pieces of primed unstretched primed artist canvas then let dry thoroughly. The painting curing/drying process can take up to a week to complete. I usually do not varnish the paintings because with the medium and method I use, there are often juicy texture variations on the fabric pieces ranging from glossy, to matt, to the canvas showing through, and a varnish will flatten out this interesting texture. Occasionally, however, I will varnish a piece that has doesn't have any gloss to give it more umph. If so, I'll list that in the item description.

After each piece of painted fabric is complete, I design a bag or pouch with different linings, backings, straps and trim to bring out the sass in each painting... and cut the beautiful paintings into pieces. The final transformation process is to carefully sew them on my Janome Magnolia with either Guttermann or Mettler 100% polyester thread. They each have their own personality, which then informs their new name.

Oh, and if your wondering why some of them look "wrinkled" it's because the paintings go through quite an ordeal in the turning process because of the stiffness and gloss of the art medium... it's kind of brutal, actually, when I turn them right side out after sewing. It makes my husband cringe to watch. And since this is an art medium, I can't iron the paintings. So consider the wrinkles little badges of honor the art has earned during its transformation into a bag. :)

This is real artists paint on art canvas, so the paint will "break in" just like your favorite pair of worn jeans. It will crack or stretch in places. This is a normal effect of bending acrylic paint that's meant to lie still and behave on a flat canvas and should be cherished as part of the unique character of how your painting dares to live as a wearable accessory. And here's my favorite part - we are breaking the “don’t touch or you might ruin it” rule when it comes to art! Aren't we naughty?

If you have any questions, please-please-please feel free to ask. I have a full-time day job and will not be checking in on you during the day, but I promise I'll hurry home as fast as I can and check on you each night!

Payment

I accept PayPal (You don't need a PayPal account to purchase via PayPal, just your credit or debit card will do!) or Money Order. PayPal payments must be received within 24 hours of purchase. I'm always happy to reserve an item for you if you need more time to pay. Please mail money orders within 2 days of purchase. Packages paid for by money order will be mailed when the money order is received.

NOTE: All purchases made by Texas buyers will be charged sales tax.

Shipping

Packages are shipped via USPS within 2-3 days of receiving payment. If you are paying by PayPal, I use your PayPal address. Shipping insurance is optional and offered during checkout. Please convo for info on international shipping.

Refunds and Exchanges

Contact me within 5 days of receipt to initiate a return or exchange. Items must not be used or worn. Return policy does not cover worn/used bags or the above-mentioned break-in of paint cracks. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. Glint Gear will not be responsible for damage during shipment if shipping insurance is not purchased.

Additional Policies and FAQs

CARE OF YOUR GLINT GEAR:

It's best not to leave your Glint Gear in extreme hot or cold temperatures such as the hot sun in the back seat of your car (not that you would since you wouldn’t leave your purse or wallet out for potential thieves to see anyway.)

Spot clean only.

DO NOT iron or put painted sections/pieces.

DO NOT put your Glint Gear in the washer/dryer.

Due to differences in computers and monitors, colors may vary slightly from the ones pictured.

ALLERGIC TO CATS? We do have a cat in the house, so please be advised.

RECEIPTS: To reduce waste, I will only print a receipt of your transaction upon request.
