We believe in making handmade items of high quality that are fun AND functional.
** WHO WE ARE**
We're Melissa and Jennifer....friends, five or six states apart (depending upon how you figure it.) - Jenn's in Ohio and Melissa in Texas.
It's pretty simple - we're crafty. Knitters and sewers and tinkerers-in-other-things who like to make stuff! Our current favorite being bags that serve a purpose rather than just look pretty: bags perfect for your current sock knitting project...a "grab on the run" tote...a light purse with a great closure to take out for a night-on the town!
Why not open two shops, if we're two people? We only have so much time and we want to focus on quality rather than quantity. No one will notice the difference - you order your bag and the one who made it will send it!
** WHO'S BENDY? **
He's a wooden artist's model and somewhere along the line we both picked one up at IKEA and he appears often in our flickr streams. He doesn't sew, however. Not yet at least.
Payment
Payment for the item(s) purchased should be received within 48 hours of the order.
We only accept payment through Paypal. You don't need to already have a PayPal acount to use it, and you won't be charged a fee either.
Shipping
Unless otherwise noted on the item listing, shipping is only $2 when shipped anywhere within in the United States and $3 to Canada. (Talk to us if you live elsewhere and can't live without one of our items!)
This covers all packaging, postage (USPS, first-class mail) and handling. but it does not insure the package or give tracking information. If you prefer shipping options outside of USPS First Class, please contact us so we can send an adjusted invoice - as items lost in the mail are not refunded.
Though orders generally go out earlier, we ship at the latest, 3-4 business days of receiving payment.
Refunds and Exchanges
We're certainly fair-minded women and want to keep customers satisfied! Exchanges will be considered on a case-by-case basis but generally only if there is a significant flaw in the construction of the item... probably not because you received your purchase and just realized it doesn't match your dog/lampshade/skin tone.
Again, we're reasonable and open to discussion. We anticipate this won't be an issue, however, because we'll only ever put up quality work for your purchase! To be fair, we do ask that you bring your concerns or request for an exchange to us within 48 hours of receipt of the item.
Additionally, we do not offer refunds for shipping errors (ie. getting lost or damaged in the mail), but we do package the items well and are willing to insure them for an additional amount. Just contact us if you have questions about this. (sewbendy at gmail dot com)
Additional Policies and FAQs
We put a lot of time and attention into the items we make available to you and each one is unique in its own way! We're happy to field inquiries for consignment and custom Alchemy orders.
Allergy alert: Our items are made in our homes - and we both have pets. (We don't PUT the pets in the items, or make them try them on, though!) Additionally, we're both non-smokers and, for good measure, we promise to not store nuts in/on/around our materials. Just in case someone's allergic. Because we're thoughtful.
