Welcome
I set up this shop to give myself a place for selling my dolls and figures exclusively rather than having them get lost in my other shop (ladyartisan.etsy.com), which is mostly journals. It takes me quite a bit of time to make dolls right now and the poor things were quickly disappearing under the journals over there. So I've given them a new home here. Please introduce yourself to the various characters here and chat with them a bit. I'm sure you'll find one that needs to visit you permanently.
I use a variety of media for making my dolls including air dry stone clay, paper clay, polymer clay, Apoxie Sculpt and fabric. I will probably find other media to try over time and most of those figures and dolls will end up here.
The only series I currently have going is the Storkop series a fictional town in Texas (probably) where all the inhabitants have wide, oblong heads and big eyes. There are quite a variety of characters in this series from regular little kids to fantastical critters.
I have quite a few other dolls and figures in the works and ideas for more than I can complete any time soon, so check back regularly for new items.
I love history, ancient cultures, ancient writing and ancient art so I frequently include these things in my work. I also love to try new techniques and learn new skills. Hopefully, you'll always find something fresh and interesting in my shop.
Payment
I take Paypal, check, money order, trades, and credit cards by phone. My preference is Paypal although a good trade can be quite fun.
Payment should be made as soon as you've purchased the item and no later than three days after you've completed the Etsy transaction. If you're paying by check or money order, please mail it within three days of your order and convo me to let me know. If you need longer to pay, you can convo me to discuss payment options.
For trades, convo me first to discuss. Once we've come to an agreement, you can click the "other" option under payment to complete the transaction.
For credit cards by phone, choose "other" under payment. You can call me at 210 566 5585 to give me your payment information.
Tax will be added to orders purchased by anyone living in Texas.
If you need to cancel an order, please convo me and then be patient for everything to be processed. If you've already paid, I will refund your money once I've received the cancellation notice from you. Please think carefully about your purchases before completing the transaction.
Shipping
All orders will be shipped within three days after receipt of payment, except checks and money orders which will be shipped after the payment has cleared my bank. For checks, this will be 10 business days; for money orders, it will 7 business days.
Custom orders can take up to six weeks to complete but I will be in contact with you throughout the process.
Orders are packaged very carefully in a gift box or recycled box with padding and/or tissue paper cushioning the piece. This box is then placed inside a larger box with padding and/or tissue paper cushioning that box.
My standard shipping method is USPS Priority Mail with insurance for both US and International shipping. If you need expedited shipping, please convo me with specifics. Expedited shipping costs will be calculated and an additional $5 rush fee will be added.
International customs, duties, and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer and are NOT included in any costs paid to me.
Refunds and Exchanges
Customer satisfaction is extremely important to me. If you receive an item and find that it wasn't what you expected, the colors are different than you thought (computer monitors aren't always accurate) or you just decide you don't want it, please contact me within 7 days to arrange a return. I will refund your money (minus shipping costs) once I've received the item back (in its original condition).
If you receive your item damaged, please contact me immediately! You can choose between receiving a full refund (minus original shipping charges I'll pay return shipping) or I can repair or replace the item with a like item (I'll pay shipping both ways). Please remember that this is a handmade item and any replacement item may be similar but will not be exactly the same as the original.
If you don't receive an item in a reasonable amount of time, please convo me with your concerns. I'll initiate a search with the post office which could take some time. If the item doesn't show up, I'll refund your money or replace the item with a similar/similarly priced item of your choice (shipping not included).
Personalized items (with initials or a name on them) cannot be returned for a refund unless damdaged in shipping. If your item was damaged in shipping, it will be handled the same as other items damaged in shipping (refund for the price of the item, repair the damaged item, or a replacement).
Customized items (with generic words or embellishments) that you return will be relisted.
Additional Policies and FAQs
I don't do very many customized dolls but it never hurts to ask. Generally speaking, I will be very particular about which custom doll/figure order I accept. Custom orders take four to six weeks to complete (if it will take longer, I'll let you know as we're discussing your order) and I'll be in regular contact with you throughout the process.
To request a custom item, please convo me with your idea so we can discuss the specifics. A non refundable downpayment of 1/2 the agreed price of the item will be required prior to my beginning the design process. Once we've agreed upon a design, I'll send updates and photos while I'm making your item. Prior to the final payment, I'll send you a photo of the completed figure/doll and will set up a listing for the final payment with shipping costs. Once I've received payment, the item will be shipped to you. As noted under "Refunds and Exchanges," personalized items (with name or initials) cannot be returned and customized items (with generic customizations) will be relisted if they are returned to me.
I'm happy to discuss the possibilities of wholesale or consignment. Please be aware that my current pricing structure is right around wholesale cost, so any interest in a pricing discount will require either a contract for several items over a specified time or an order of several items at once ("several" being negotiable at this time).
