Welcome

The Relic Hound is as its name states. I work with tooth, bone, shell, antiquities, trade beads and other curiosities. I'll scavenge from a wide variety of sources. In the case of antiquities, provenance will be given upon request.

I am also a Pagan animist, and I incorporate my practices and belief in my work, being attracted to the natural and the antique. Some of the items I've made things with are very old, and have been around for a long time.

A portion of proceeds from the sale of any product containing animal material will be donated to nonprofit groups dedicated to nature preservation and animal rescue.

Payment

I take PayPal, and money orders only. I won't accept personal checks or concealed cash--I'm way too paranoid. If items aren't paid for within one week of ordering, they will be relisted and negative feedback given. Of course, exceptions can be made to those who communicate with me ahead of time that there might be some sort of delay.

Shipping

Items are usually mailed out within a week--usually much less, more commonly within 24 to 48 hours, in standard shipping with standard packaging. For those wishing to upgrade shipping costs, please contact me BEFORE purchasing an item so I can adjust the shipping price.

I'm not responsible for the post office losing stuff, or for customs stalling shipping or confiscating articles. For special modified shipping feel free to contact me privately BEFORE making an order.

Those of you purchasing overseas and over borders--if you purchase an item from here, I am going to assume it is legal to possess in your country. I am NOT responsible for items that are delayed or confiscated at customs. Please know your rules before purchasing.

All items sold at the Relic Hound are legal to sell within the U.S. Know your local laws before making a purchase.

Refunds and Exchanges

If you are unhappy with your purchase, items will be fully refunded minus the cost of shipping when the item is returned to me in the condition they were originally shipped in.

In some cases I can also do exchanges, providing I have multiple copies of an item. Otherwise, items will be fully refunded (minus shipping), once they are returned to me in the condition they were originally mailed in.

Additional Policies and FAQs

A portion of proceeds from sale of items featuring animal products go towards wildlife conservation and animal rescue, such as the ASPCA and the Defenders of Wildlife. As part of my practice, I try to give a little back from anything I've used that once came from a once-living thing.
