Howdy, I'm a new ‘'outsider'’ folky artist n I call myself -Maw Bear....I call myself this cuz o’ my bear of a heart…Indian spirit, n the fact that I’m a good ole Momma!!! I paint things from memories o my past, heritage- both Indian n Southern, n life while sittin on my porch in the Great Blue Ridge Mountains. I love gardening, cannin, sittin round a fire or the porch an sharin good laughs with my family / friends, campin, hikin, being a hermit at home, Civil War Reenactin’, n a good ole book..... When paintin from my past, I let my feelins from experiences come out…losin my parents to drunk drivers at age eleven...LIVING the Twilight Zone..., abusive relationships, n good memories like cheerleadin, volleyball, high school, birth, livin life n most importantly my Lord…I’ve been bottled up creatively for years from the shock o my momndaddy dyin, n together with God, who without Him I wouldn't be here, n good ole Mrs. Paula Deen, I have come alive again. Long story, but thank you Paula, you are loved! And, I love the Lord as well...I get kinda shy talking about all that has happened in my life, but boy could I tell you stories! I'm gonna start painting some of them and the ways God has brought me through...--- I paint on canvas mostly, but Lots of my stuff come from fleamarkets, wood.....I apply a type of tar substance, then paint over it with acrylic paints, and scratch through ta show the tar. Then, I seal it all up with shellac/polyurethane. Sometimes I don't use the tar at all and just paint on found objects... trash to treasures! ....-Thanks 4 lookn, comments welcome, chowzers! -maw bear

Please write me first to be sure the piece is still available, I keep my sites updated but would be happier to confirm before you purchase. I have several hundred pieces available.
Paypal Accepted; Local pickup ok as well if you are in the Asheville/Hendersonville NC area.
Please make payment within 3 business days ie M-F
Please cancel within 1 Day, no matter the day. The most important thing is to communicate with me. I have a large family, paint daily, and am just as busy as most folks, so just shoot me a holler.

Shipping

Please read each sale details, sometimes I pay shipping and sometimes buyer is required to pay.
I ship US Postal Service.
Insurance and confirmation required.
I will Consider shipping internationally.

Refunds and Exchanges

Refunds and Exchanges on a per item and per transaction basis. I am most interested in my paintings/ babies going to good homes, if for any reason you are ever unhappy please let me know. If we do an exchange/refund, buyer is responsible for shipping. If at any time, you have an issue just give me a holler.
Insurance is required on all sales so damages and losses are covered.

Additional Policies and FAQs

All paintings are sold with no frame. Frames are difficult to ship.
I try to assist with custom orders, but usually prefer to paint what I feel. Kind of difficult for someone to request a memory painting. I do commissions, but the requirement is that you just tell me which style of painting you like/ possible colors...other than that it is an original memory painting for you!!!
I do sale wholesale to galleries.
