Welcome

Thank you for your interest in purchasing a piece of my original artwork! Most (though not all) of my pieces are done for inclusion in publications such as books, journals or newsletters. In many cases, the original commissions are done pro bono for non-profit or low-profit organizations. The originals are then sold to provide compensation for my time.

Some items on this site may be listed while the original is still with the layout designer for the publication. If this is the case, a note will be included in the product description. The artwork would ship in 1-2 weeks, once the item returns from the designer's.

In the case of all pieces, I will retain copyright over the work. I keep digital copies that I can and will use for self-promotional purposes, as well as for inclusion in future publications when requests are made of me. I make an effort to retain high-quality digital reproductions for any future use of the pieces, so once you receive the original, it is yours to keep. At any time you are welcome to use images of the work for personal use, such as on blogs, but not for commercial or large-scale use or publication without my permission.

Payment

Payment can be made through PayPal (credit card or PayPal balance) or by personal cheque or money order. If paying by cheque or MO, I will not ship the artwork until I have received the cheque/MO and (in the case of cheques) it has cleared the bank, for my own protection. However, I will reserve the item for you until the cheque clears (or doesn't). Cheques are deposited promptly upon receipt. Please contact me to make arrangements if you wish to pay by cheque/MO.

Shipping

Shipping is by Canada Post Expresspost, an expedited shipping method that includes tracking and insurance. Packages shipped within Canada are received in 1-2 days, to the United States in 3-5. Purchasers within the Kingston, Ontario, area may contact me about picking the piece up in person to save on shipping costs. Items picked up in person may be paid for with cash.

Refunds and Exchanges

If you aren't completely satisfied with the piece when you receive it, please contact me right away to ship the item back. I will refund the full purchase price and shipping provided the artwork is received by me in the same condition I sent it out to you.

Should an item be damaged in transit, contact me right away with a photo of the piece and the damage caused during shipping. We can arrange a refund (as per above) if returned to me, or discount/partial refund if you decide to keep it anyway.

In the unlikely case of an item lost during transit, I will refund the full amount to you. Should the lost item later arrive at your doorstep, I ask that you be honest in either returning the piece to me, or repaying the purchase price.

Additional Policies and FAQs

Artwork is displayed in frames in the listings on this site, but is shipped to you unframed. Most pieces will fit a standard frame with 8x10 or 9x12 window. Instances where this is not the case are indicated in the individual listing.
