Les Vieux Jours prides itself on providing fun colorful original and often one of a kind items made with love, as well as recycled and/or reused materials. Everything is handmade in my little two flat by me in a room that could otherwise be a large walk in closet. :) Among the materials I like to use are junk mail- for my handmade paper-, jar lids, bottlecaps, cereal box cardboard, altoid tins, fabric scraps, cast off wallpaper books, other odds and ends that could have easily ended up in the trash. I love using everyday household objects that are often overlooked.

So, in my own way I'm doing my small part to decrease the amount of pointless waste and increasing the creative beauty of the planet.

The themes I use dwell in ages past and dance among various ethnicities and faiths. You could say my art is tolerant as well. :) If it's Egyptian, Victorian, Medieval, Mexican, Asian..etc or has skulls involved, you will likely see it in my shop.

I primarily use images in the public domain, creative commons and those in line with fair use while others may come from the packaging/trash I recycle.I also draw and carve my own prints and stamps that I use in various projects.

I like to keep in touch with my customers and answer questions, get preferences, and let them know details about their orders.

Payment

I accept payments through paypal only and I DO NOT ACCEPT ECHECK.

All items ship and/or are designed only after I receive payment. I ask that all customers please pay for their items within 2 days of purchase. I will not hold items past then. If I do not receive payment after the allotted time, I will relist the item.

Shipping

I'm located in the US, so I mail things locally via
FIRST CLASS MAIL unless otherwise noted. FIRST CLASS MAIL service DOES NOT include tracking info. If you want tracking service on your package, the service must be purchased SEPARATELY and ON REQUEST as it is NOT included in my shipping price. Please contact me if you want this service.

I try to ship items out within 3 days of receiving the order. As I do have an actual job and other obligations outside of ETSY so I must allow extra time to package and physically take things to the post office if they are too big for the mailbox.(especially international orders)

As such, I ask that you please allow for lead time during the holiday season. If you require expedited shipping via a method other than that which is selected, then please convo me. If you want your order by Christmas you must do so before Dec 13th.

My prices reflect the cost of shipping, packaging and handling. If you are ordering several items from me, contact me about the shipping before you place the order, as I can group items together for you but will need to figure the shipping charge based on weight.

I purchase some packing materials but and also reuse packaging as much as I can in the effort to help the environment and keep with my theme of reuse and recycle!

I alert my customers via email that their package is ready to go out, and follow up with a confirmation email to let them know that I have indeed shipped their package, along with any relevant details.

I try to keep everything as simple and affordable as I can for you!

Refunds and Exchanges

Damaged items
--------------
If an item is damaged in the mail I will do my best to replace or fix it. If an item arrives damaged, please let me know immediately and describe the damage as best you can. Depending on the extent, I will try to either fix the item (covering the shipping costs)or if it is an item easily reproduced I will make you a new one free of charge.

Lost items
----------
If an item does not arrive or is lost by the mail, please contact me and I will either replace it for free or give you a refund or credit.

I do not take returns or refunds except for the above circumstances.

Additional Policies and FAQs

I do own guinea pigs who like to romp in timothy hay, so if you are allergic be warned that my crafts come from a pet friendly home. I do not smoke. :)

The raw materials which most of my crafts are made from are recycled- cereal box cardboard, junk mail, metal lids, etc. Buying my crafts also means you've helped the environment, even in a small way!

Custom Orders

If you are interested in a custom order, please contact me. There are a variety of items I am willing to do custom work for, time and supplies allowing. These include:

Wizarding wands
Lenormand Card Sets
Pin Sets (at least 4 pins please!)
Handmade Journals
Bookmarks
Block Prints (please select from the designs I have available- ask me and I'll send you images)

If you place a custom order with me, I will work on the project and then put up a listing for you to purchase from when I have finished. I will always keep in contact during the process to discuss details, shipping, and send you a picture of your finished item before I put up the listing.

If for some reason I make a custom item for you, and you change your mind or do not wish to purchase the item after it is listed, I ask that you please let me know immediately so that I may make the listing available to others who do. If I do not hear from you within 3 days of the listing going up, I will assume you no longer want the item and will make adjust the listing for the public.
