Welcome
Welcome to my store! As far as my philosphy goes, I believe in gorgeous yarn, handdyed with attention to detail, that will produce beautiful items that will be enjoyed for years. I haven't taken any courses in color theory, or gone to art school... however, I believe I have a natural eye for color combinations and a pretty good idea of what knitters love and want to use when making a special project. As a sock and lace knitter myself, I strive to offer a product that offers a lot of yardage for the money, and beautiful colorways that will both please the eye and become a gorgeous finished item.
Payment
I really prefer PayPal as a method of payment; however, I'll *consider* accepting certified check or money order if you don't have a PayPal account- BUT I must approve this *prior to purchase*! I prefer instant PayPal payments for purchases... eChecks take several days to clear (on average, 7) and delay my ability to ship the yarn to you immediately. If this is your only method of payment, PLEASE contact me before using it- I would really appreciate it!!! Use the link in the Etsy invoice from your purchase to finalize a PayPal payment, or contact me for my address if I have approved a certified check or money order. Also, please note: I do NOT accept personal checks, no exceptions. Sorry! Most importantly, please make sure that your PayPal shipping address is the address that you want your item to be shipped to- I only ship to confirmed addresses unless I approve a nonconfirmed address prior to your purchase. However, if you wish to send the item as a gift to someone, then please let me know that in advance, either by emailing me prior to purchase or by letting me know in the buyer notes portion of the invoice.
Shipping
I primarily ship domestically, but will consider shipping internationally- just please contact me before you bid on an item if you are not from the US so that I can work up a shipping estimate for you. Please keep in mind that shipping cost covers the price of the shipping, the envelope or box that your item is shipped in, and the ungodly price of gas to/from the post office- I try to only ship 2 days a week (Mon & Thurs) to cut down on transportation costs so that I can keep the shipping fee as low as possible. I will, however, be glad to combine shipping on multiple items, and it will be configured this way: the item with the highest shipping amount will be counted as the first item, and each additional item will add .75 onto the shipping total. For example...
$5.00 shipping (for a hank of handdyed yarn)
+ .75 shipping (for another hank of yarn)
+ .75 shipping (for another hank of yarn)
-------------
$6.50 total shipping.
I have misgivings about shipping insurance, personally, unless the item is over $50. If you do decide that you want shipping insurance, please add $1.65 for up to a $50 purchase, $2.05 for up to a $100 purchase, and $2.45 for up to a $200 purchase.
All packages/envelopes will be sent USPS unless we discuss (and agree) otherwise, or unless otherwise stated in the listing.
Refunds and Exchanges
First of all, I want you to be VERY happy with your purchase, be it supplies or something I've made. If you aren't, *pleasepleaseplease* write me a note and we'll work something out. If you & I agree that you need a refund, I'll be happy to refund your money once I've received the item back (minus any shipping cost). Items such as knitted gifts must be returned in the same condition as they were when they were shipped. Yarn must be returned clean, smoke-free and pet-hair-free, and still in the hank (or ball, if I wound it for you) with none missing- and it will be weighed when it is received. Funds will always be returned in the same manner that they were received (PayPal, M.O., cashier's check).
Additional Policies and FAQs
Feedback is an important part of what makes Etsy a marketplace. Feedback ensures that buyers and sellers are accountable for their actions, and leaves behind a history for others to look at when considering making a purchase from a seller. Feedback is optional (but strongly encouraged!) on Etsy; I always leave positive feedback for my buyers at the close of a successful transaction, and would appreciate buyers doing the same for me. I take my reputation on Etsy very seriously, and therefore I ask that if you are unhappy about something, PLEASE send me a message before leaving any sort of negative feedback! Feedback is nonretractable on Etsy except under very serious circumstances, and I want you to be deliriously happy anyway! If you'd like to leave feedback for your Etsy purchase, you may do so at this link (copy/paste into your browser):

I am open to doing custom work for you, if you have someting in particular in mind. If you see an item in my store that you are interested in purchasing, just not in "THAT color", then by all means drop me a line! I'll do my best to re-create it for you in the color of your choice. You can use the "Alchemy" link from my store's homepage to make a request, or of course you can email me.
