12amblue's Shop Policies

Welcome

Welcome to Midnight Blue Studios and thank you for shopping with us! For us, the creative journey is the destination and we could not be more pleased that you have chosen to be part of ours. If you ever have any questions about our pieces, please do not hesitate to ask ... we want your experience to be the very best possible.

Every piece that we share with you is very carefully crafted, with attention to detail, quality materials, and love of the art. We are not about production, never want to be ... we are about the art of the matter.

For photographs, there can be many hours of work involved ... the taking of the photo is just the first step. Our darkroom is now the computer, but we spend just as much time and effort as ever, ensuring the perfect printed image. We may do many test runs and reworks until we get that "Ah, yes ... that is the one - that image captures the moment perfectly" result. The mats for images are professionally created. Framing in our studio can take an hour alone, ensuring that the presentation is as flawless as possible.

For jewelry, we like to hand-choose our materials as much as possible by going to little bead stores and gem shows and talking with the owners and vendors. We do a lot of research to find the best quality and we have a strong preference for working with natural materials and fine metals. Because we are not about production, but art, we don't buy huge quantities of anything ... sometimes we may only buy a couple of beads just because they speak to us, the design for a piece already formulating in our head. In the studio, we like to take our time ... we lay out, get opinions, rework, until we have a piece that we feel has balance, interest, and good energy. Our earrings use lever backs, which are more expensive, because we don't want you to inadvertently lose one, which is so easy with wires (we have had it happen personally!). We take the time and material to wire wrap, because we don't want your piece to fall apart if it gets pulled on. We use snake chain because it is less likely to kink or catch. We use bigger clasps, sometimes even magnetic, to make getting the bracelet on easier. These are just some of the things we are thinking about to bring you a beautiful piece of jewelry that you will love wearing or giving.

This is a creative journey for us, full of fun, exploration and sharing. We are so glad you are here ...

Payment

We prefer to use PayPal for purchase transactions . We will also accept a personal check, but please note that we will have to wait for your check to clear before shipping your piece, so please allow sufficient time, especially if it is a gift. Money orders will work, too ... please contact us to arrange the details.

We do expect payment arrangements to be made within three days, otherwise we will re-list the item for sale.

Shipping

We will always do our best to find the safest and best value for making sure your new piece of artwork arrives to your door perfect. We use USPS, UPS or Fed Ex accordingly. We will ship ground or 1st class mail unless you let us know you prefer otherwise.

Unfortunately we cannot hand deliver every item, thus we cannot be responsible for what our carriers do with the items once they leave our hands. We will insure the item unless you let us know otherwise.

We will send you an email as soon as your item ships along with any tracking information, so you can know when to expect it. We generally ship any item in stock within three days of processed payment.

Shipping prices are for within the United States, but we will be happy to work with you on shipping everywhere else.

Jewelry will arrive in a white jewelry box, tied with a navy gingham ribbon.

Matted prints will arrive inside the postal packaging in a clear envelope to help keep the piece clean.

Refunds and Exchanges

We hope that you will love our artwork as much as we have in its creation ...but, if you are not completely satisfied, please contact us as soon as possible, but not later than 7 days after receipt of your purchase, and we will gladly arrange an exchange or provide you a refund (excluding shipping & handling charges). The item must be returned to us in the same condition and manner as we sent it. We will process the refund upon receipt of the item.

For our jewelry, with the proper care and handling, it should last many, many years. But if there should be a problem, we will stand behind the quality of our work for the lifetime of the piece. Send it back to us with an explanation of what happened and we will be happy to work with you on its repair.

Additional Policies and FAQs

Limited edition pieces will be signed and numbered. Our limited edition pieces are generally limited to 100 unless otherwise specified. Not everything is a limited edition, so please ask if you are not sure and this is important to you.

We have or can create notecards of almost any of the photographic images (except the limited editions). They are $3.50 for one, four for $12. The images are printed either on our pro printer or at the lab and assembled by hand on notecard stock with envelopes in our studio. Just drop us a line if it is something you are interested in.

If you are not sure about the proper care of your jewelry piece, please be sure to contact us for advice ... silver will tarnish if left in air and light, pearls need special care and handling, natural stones can not always handle heavy impact or wear. We are here to help, drop us a line and keep it beautiful.

We think collaboration is fun and one of the best parts of the creative journey. We would love working with you on a custom piece ... please just let us know what you are looking for and we will be happy to discuss it with you. We can also send you photographs via email of related portfolio pieces.

Retailers, we are happy to discuss wholesale or consignment arrangements with you.

Fellow artists, we also provide portfolio services ... photography, websites and small print runs. Be sure to contact us if you need any help in these areas.
