Behind the name: Elements by Dawn
Dawn's goal as an artist is to celebrate the relationship between contrasting design elements. By pairing hard and soft, rough and smooth, shiny and dull, black and white, Dawn hopes to reveal the beauty of interweaving contrasts.

Dawn is constantly learning new techniques, as well as perfecting traditional methods of metalworking and design.

Additionally, she is a wife and mother of two boys. She enjoys listening to music of all types, especially industrial, techno, a little ska, and classical. Dawn is a self-diagnosed coffee, chocolate and cheese addict.

Payment:
Elements by Dawn is pleased to accept PayPal, and personal checks drawn on US banks. In addition, Elements by Dawn accepts credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) through her business’ ProPay Merchant Account. If you are interested in this form of payment, please send Dawn a note with your email address where she will send an invoice and a secure payment link.

A note about using PayPal eCheck service: Elements by Dawn DOES accept this form of payment, but please be aware it will take several days before the eCheck clears, thus delaying shipment. If you desire your items to be shipped promptly, please consider an alternate method of payment.

By law, I am required to collect Sales Tax on shipments within Illinois at a rate of 7.25%. Shipping and Handling fees are not taxed.

Shipping

Shipping:
Items are shipped with 48 hours of purchase (unless it is a holiday or Sunday).

The shipping price listed for each product includes postage, handling, gift box and other packaging supplies.

* Domestic Orders under $40 are shipped USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation (tracking) for $5.95.
* Domestic Orders over $40 are shipped USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation and Insurance for $6.95.
* Domestic Express Mail is available for $20.50. If interested in this service, please contact Dawn before purchase and the shipping price will be promptly adjusted.
* International Priority Mail is $11.95 to Canada and $14.95 to other countries.
* Domestic Orders over $300 are shipped Priority Mail with Insurance and Delivery Confirmation at no cost. Domestic Orders over $500 will require Signature Confirmation.

Most International Orders are shipped Economy Class. Please contact Dawn before purchase if you're interested in an alternate shipping class (see above).

All items in the shop are available for immediate shipping! In other words, Elements by Dawn does not presell or wait for an order to be placed before she begins work on a piece.

Please be aware some localities prohibit and/or restrict the import of precious metals. If this is the case, a prompt refund will be issued. Additionally, Elements by Dawn is not responsible for any additional tax/surcharges/duty imposed by the importing country.

The following 2009 dates are considered Federal Holidays and mail will not be processed on these dates:

Refunds and Exchanges

Refund and Exchanges:
Each piece of jewelry is made to the highest standards and is personally inspected by the artist before shipment. However, if you are not completely satisfied, please contact Dawn within 10 days of purchase and a refund or store credit will be issued (minus shipping). Please understand that refunds can only be granted for items returned in like-new condition. Additionally, due to hygienic concerns, earrings and hair accessories CANNOT be returned.

All domestic orders are shipped with Delivery Confirmation and Insurance (if applicable). In the unlikely event your package is lost or damaged in transit, Elements by Dawn will work with you to resolve the issue.

Additional Information:

All of Elements by Dawn's jewelry is intended for individuals ages 12 and up. Please do NOT give jewelry to young children!

Elements by Dawn's Green Statement: Dawn only purchases metals and gemstones from reputable suppliers. All of her silver, gold, and other metals suppliers practice sustainable, reclaimed, recaptured and/or recycled processes. Elements by Dawn only conducts business with gem dealers who adhere to the Kimberly Accord and subscribe to the ICA and AGTA code of ethics.

Packaging/shipping materials are recycled or reused when appropriate. Dawn encourages her customers to find ways to also reuse or recycle packaging materials.

As of October 2008, all gift boxes contain 80% recycled content, ribbon is made from clorine-free recyclable paper.
