Just a note about forging times and order fulfillment times...

Our order fulfillment time is an estimation and IS NOT GUARANTEED. We are a true family business with small children, and occasionally the flu, accidents, or other unforeseen things happen. We make each and every order with our own hands - we don't just assemble a pendant and a pre-made necklace, bracelet, or ring...it is hammered, stamped, finished, drilled, buffed, polished, and forged from our own hands over time. We try to keep our customers updated as to the status of their orders, and you are always free to check in with us :) If your order is time-critical, please contact us before placing it, to make sure we can make it within your time frame. Birth Designs original jewelry designs are registered, protected, and copyright 2001-2009, and we respectfully ask that our designs are not duplicated or copied for sale in any country, state, or region. Please do not ask other artists to duplicate our designs.

Payment

♥ We ask that you please complete your payment within Etsy's stated policy of 3 days. If you need more time, let us know and we'll see what we can do. If we don't hear from you within a week, we'll cancel the listing, leave appropriate feedback, and re-list. All orders are to be paid in advance unless other arrangements are made prior to ordering.

Shipping

♥ We ship *all domestic orders* USPS First Class Mail unless requested otherwise. If you wish overnight shipping, please contact us for availability, carriers, and cost. Forging time (the time we need to make the item) on your item still applies – please contact us to find out how long it will take for your item to be ready for shipment BEFORE you order. Please note, we do NOT automatically insure our shipments. If you wish to insure your package, let us know & we'll send you an invoice for the exact cost. We regret that we **cannot be responsible** for packages lost by the USPS (though of course we'll work with you to get a replacement or recover it from our end!).

♥ ABOUT DELIVERY CONFIRMATION: Delivery confirmation IS NOT tracking. The USPS page calls it "tracking" on the site - but it's not. Ask them, or look it up. They are not even bound to scan the piece when they receive it, and they don't. Sometimes they scan it along the way, and sometimes they don't. Just because a piece is scanned at a distribution center or stop along the way, is no indication of when the piece was actually received. I have no control over if or when a piece is scanned, except at the destination - that's what being paid for. THE ONLY THING THE USPS IS BOUND TO DO WITH DELIVERY CONFIRMATION IS SCAN UPON DELIVERY. Nothing else is implied or guaranteed.

IF YOU DO WANT A TRACKED PACKAGE - PLEASE - UPGRADE TO UPS, FEDEX, or USPS EXPRESS OVERNIGHT. They are all tracked from the moment of receipt and automatically insured.

♥ IMPORTANT: we ship to the address provided by PayPal - please make sure this matches with the address you provide on your Etsy checkout. If there is a discrepancy, we ship to the PayPal address according to their policy, Etsy's policy, and ours. We no longer make exceptions, for our own protection and yours. Thanks for understanding.

♥ International customers are responsible for all fees, taxes, and duties associated with shipping to their respective countries. We do NOT mark "gift" for purchases - this is illegal - please don't ask.

♥ International orders will ship PRIORITY INTERNATIONAL (hence the cost) unless requested otherwise. *** International mail is shipped at your own risk! We cannot be held responsible for lost international packages.*** We will be happy to upgrade your shipment to Global Priority Insured, Global Express, Registered Mail, or UPS Insured at your cost. Yes! We can provide a customs number upon request.

Refunds and Exchanges

♥ We guarantee our work and will repair or replace any item that breaks or is defective free of charge under NORMAL wear and handling. We do not pay for postage to or from the customer unless it is our workmanship that is faulty. Please note, dropping, stepping on, catching on items, children playing with an item, or other similar incidents are not considered "Normal" wear. Each incident is solely at our discretion to determine the cost, if any, of repair or replacement.

If you are unhappy with your NON-CUSTOM item, we offer a FULL REFUND MINUS SHIPPING to and from Birth Designs within 14 days of receiving of your purchase. We will refund the money when the item is back in our possession, not before. We DO NOT REFUND for people who are unhappy with the TIMING of their purchase. Once the item has been shipped, there will be no refunds until the item is back in our possession. We offer EITHER/OR - your item or your money back - NOT BOTH. (sorry about even having to say this)

♥ We love custom orders and do a lot of them! If requested, we will take photos and obtain your approval before sending. That being said, we DO NOT take returns on custom items, so be sure of your phrase/quote/specs before purchasing. We will work with you to try & make things right if it’s our error. If you are unhappy with your order - DO contact us - we will work with you to make it right :)

♥ A note about our hand-stamped stamped items: the letters will not be perfectly straight - it's part of the charm of these artisan items. They are hand-tooled in our studio, one by one. Stamping is a much deeper impression, and also blackened, to be much more visible than engraving. We have many photos in our store of hand-stamped items for your perusal.

Additional Policies and FAQs

♥ Forging times: Most retail items SHIP within ABOUT 3-4 WEEKS from the date the order is paid. This means that it will be about 4+ weeks before you receive your item (domestically in the US) and longer, depending on your country, if you are outside the US. Almost all of our offerings are custom made in our studio for each buyer at the time of purchase. This includes our non-customized offerings, as they are also made to order. We make our own chains, bracelets, etc. so every item is actually 'custom'. If your listing states otherwise, or you have a specific question, please contact us. We think you will find our quality and attention to detail worth the wait! However, if you CANNOT wait, please make sure we can accommodate your timeline, or kindly refrain from ordering.

♥ Alterations to your original order: We always use your ORIGINAL order when forging. If you sent us incorrect information, or would like to change something, we ask that you do it within 48 hours. After that, we cannot guarantee your change will make it to the forging sheet. PLEASE, DOUBLE AND TRIPLE CHECK ALL INFORMATION ON YOUR ORDER.
