Baby Showcase: On Sale Thursday, March 19, 2009 12 PM EDT

Know someone with a baby on the way?  Or maybe you're a new mama or mama-to-be?  The Baby Showcase will be a great place to find ideas for a gift that will stand out from the rest and become a memorable part of the little one's new life.  And likely, you're also on the hunt for fantastic pieces for the nursery or the wee wardrobe.

We encourage sellers to add items that every parent will love, like baby booties, pajamas, cute dresses, and items to decorate a nursery.  Baby albums, onesies, baby blankets, and toys would work well, too. And don't forget those items that make a new mom's life easier like baby slings, diaper bags and beauty products to keep mom and baby well moisturized and feeling good.

In order to keep the Showcase on-point thematically, the tool will only pull items placed in the following categories: Bath and Beauty (e.g., top-level tag being "bath and beauty"), Bags and Purses, Books and Zines, Children, Clothing, Crochet, Knitting, Quilts, Toys and Vintage.

  • Baby Showcase goes on sale Thursday, March 19, 2009 at 12PM EDT.
  • Go to the Showcase Gateway to purchase a spot.
  • This Showcase will run from Monday, March 23, 2009 12am EDT through Sunday, March 29, 2009, 11:59pm EDT.
  • For $15 USD, Etsy sellers can purchase a 24-hour spot, which will be linked from a prominent banner on Etsy's homepage.
  • Sellers determine which item will be featured in your Showcase slot. Sellers must use the tool in Your Etsy > Promote > Showcase. Learn more about this process here.

Future Showcases

If you are thinking about planning for other Showcases that may be more appropriate for your items, here are some of the front page Showcases we will be highlighting:

  • Spring Showcase: On sale date, March 26, 2009; the Showcase will be live from March 30, 2009 to April 12, 2009.
    • Think of bunnies, lambs, Easter eggs and all things "spring-like".
  • Mothers Day Showcase: On sale date, April 9, 2009; the Showcase will be live from April 20, 2009 to May 3, 2009.
    • Think of beautiful jewelry, artwork, fashion and all things that will make a mom feel special.
  • Graduation Showcase: On sale date, April 30, 2009; the Showcase will be live from May 4, 2009 to May 10, 2009.
    • Think keepsakes and items to send them off in style to college or their first job.
