Summer barbecue, garden parties, pool parties...these are some of the advantages of warmer weather! In the Summer Entertaining Showcase, you'll find lots of great items to host a summer soiree: housewares, outdoor furniture, cushions and decorative items, as well as handmade gifts for the host or hostess.
We encourage sellers to add items that will make outdoor entertaining events special and memorable. Candles, plates, serving dishes, centerpieces, tablecloths, chairs and chair cushions all come to mind.
- The Summer Entertaining Showcase goes on sale Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 12 p.m. ET.
- Go to the Showcase Gateway to purchase a spot.
- This Showcase will run from Monday, June 29, 2009, 12 a.m. ET until Sunday, July 5, 2009, 11:59 p.m. ET.
- For $15 USD, Etsy sellers can purchase a 24-hour spot, which will be linked from a prominent banner on Etsy's homepage.
- Sellers determine which item will be featured in your Showcase slot. Sellers must use the tool in Your Etsy > Promote > Showcase. Learn more about this process here.
Future Showcases
If you are thinking about planning for other Showcases that may be more appropriate for your items, here are some of the upcoming home page Showcases:
- Travel: On sale Thursday, July 2, 2009; the Showcase will be live July 6, 2009 through July 12, 2009.
- Think all things for traveling, such as bags, passport holders, sunglasses, safari hats, maps, travel games, travel-sized toiletries and journals.
- Weddings: The Perfect Gift: On sale Thursday, July 9, 2009; the Showcase will be live July 13, 2009 through July 19, 2009.
- Think all things appropriate for wedding gifts, including housewares, furniture and art.

I saw the platter set and was excited because I thought it was an oblong cutting board. Upon closer inspection it turned out to be serving dishes with almost an artists color pallet twist. So unique!
