Tech Updates: Pounce for the Undiscovered!

We've just added a new feature to our newest way to shop, Pounce.   Previously, it was a way to find other items by a seller who just made a sale. Now you can also find items just listed by sellers who have yet to make any sales.  So support the Etsy underdogs, the Featured Sellers of the future and find yourself some fresh-to-the-market handmade goodies!

Also new to Pounce, you can now view 10 rows instead of 3.  This extra little improvement really made my day.  Check out tomorrow's Etsy Finds Email to see products I've found using the new Undiscovered feature on Pounce!

nice idea, though I still think a random would be great too, that way you include everyone, not just the big sellers or the newbies.

One thing I notice is that it says, this shop opened on...Is this the date we first joined or first started listing items? For me those dates are 15 months apart. I know there are many others that joined to buy before setting up shop too. Just a thought.

This little tingy is my big discovery of January, apart from Pounce. This is just ~SO useful - especially if you keep losing beads, little bottles, tiny stamps, labels - whatever. And the seller can make different sizes - OK so I maybe didn't order her entire stock LOL!!!!!

Now this I like. The undiscovered shop thing is very cool, and you could be someone's first customer ever. That kind of makes you feel warm and fuzzy, doesn't it?

This is terrific! Are there any additional plans to add a "random" pounce at all? Random would help everyone out.

I used to love the random feature in the "Sampler" when we had that. :D

(also I agree with girlsavage re: the shop open date ... I have been a buyer for a while, but my shop will open months later ... if the the signup date is used rather than a 'first listing date' it looks a little sadder!)

I love this new pounce feature. Pounce is probably my favorite way to find fun stuff, but I've sometimes thought it wasn't fair for those who haven't sold anything. I love to pounce and mark items in my favorites and then go back later and go through stores at my leisure. I've found some great buys that way!

I agree with TwistedThicket, though. Are there any plans to do a random pounce? Or maybe a pounce by category? Some of the categories are so huge it gets mind numbing to go through page after page. Stores that have made one sale three months ago won't qualify in the "recently sold" pounce but also won't be seen in the "undiscovered" pounce.
