Well, I'm not a lawyer or anything, but it would seem there may be a legal headbutting over the LV trademark and the artist's copyright. I can only guess that one of their approaches would be that of dilution - in which case I think the artist has a very strong case. While LV is known as a pursemaker - the name LV doesn't signify one specific type of a million purses that is absolutely inseperable from its designer name - like Kleenex, or Coke. Looking at that picture doesn't scream LV, it just screams 'designer bag' (in part because the focus of the picture isn't even the bag) - which could be one of a bagillion designers.

I'm not sure what sort of laws enter in to this since it would appear that it is all non-profit anyway though. (Besides, it was never clarified which country's laws were going to be the ruling set or if there is some set of international laws to be used).

Hard to say but - if LV were given enough press for being totally heartless - then maybe they'll pull a WalMart and drop the case.

H.W.F. is highly underrated. His photos make me cry with glee and then yearn to have a tea party with wild rabbits, tame chickens, cuddly kittens and patient puppies featuring tea made from my own tears. Yeah - he's just that good!
