Every Monday night we invite the community into the Etsy Labs to craft with us. Last Monday during our 3rd Annual Cupcake Craft Night, Craft Night regular Nico not only won the cupcake coloring contest, but also brought along a friend.

As it turns out, Nico and her friend Susan met through Etsy. Susan has been a patron of Nico's shop, NicoAndMooMoo, for a few years, and she came all the way from Australia to visit her and explore New York City. What Does Handmade Mean to You, Los Angeles?

What does handmade mean to you, Los Angeles artists and crafters, and you who buy from indie sellers?

At LA Felt Club on November 16th, 2008, from 2pm-6pm (Pacific Time), Tara (Etsy admin weirdwolf and video shooter) wants to meet you and tape very short (15 second) individual videos. Please bring something handmade you've bought or made and tell us why you buy/wear/sell/gift handmade. There will be a sign up sheet and each shoot will only take a few minutes. So pop by and help us spread the word about the handmade movement!

These videos will be used on Etsy's blog and BuyHandmade.org as part of the Handmade Consortium, among other places.
