The fabric and design elements will shape your theme.

Stocking fabric: enough to cut two pattern pieces.

Lining fabric: enough to cut two pattern pieces (the pieces will be slightly longer than the stocking fabric – this ends up being the cuff at the top of the stocking).

Same amount interfacing that you needed for stocking fabric (unless your fabric is already quite stiff and sturdy).

Any embellishments you prefer to use on your stocking (e.g., rick rack, ribbons, appliqué, felt, rhinestones, glitter, etc.). This will be applied after cutting but before sewing.

Something to make the loop for the stocking. You can use the fabric, but you could make the loop out of other things: shoe laces, ribbon, webbing, metal ring, etc.

Thread (can match or contrast – there is a little top-stitching so thread will show).

Sewing machine

Pins

Scissors

Iron

Ironing board

If you have any questions before the workshop about materials, just send a convo to Cathy at fernfiddlehead!

Have your own brilliant idea for an online video workshop you'd like to host? Send you pitch to mary@etsy.com to get started!
