I’m a mother of four, the oldest being Eva, a.k.a. GreenLeafandOwl (who is enjoying a new addition to the family right now). My husband and I homeschool the three younger ones, so even though I desire to devote more time to Etsy I am limited because of my other responsibilities. Nevertheless, I intentionally make time for opportunities to create and network on Etsy and other places. Two of my three younger kids have a section in my other shop (RunAliceRun) when they get the “creative bug.”

Working with Eva in our PipingHotPapers shop has been so enjoyable — we have a common ground (Etsy and creating) which draw us together as friends and co-owners. Even though we live an hour from each other, we often communicate via phone and email. However, when we are visiting each other’s homes, the men know to give us some “Etsy” time to catch up and see how we are doing in our other shops.

My desire for a Mother’s Day gift this year: a commercial grade circle punch for PipingHotPapers’ 1 inch button maker! But if I don’t get that, I covet and enjoy receiving handmade gifts by other artists on Etsy!

Here's an interesting Mother’s Day story. I was shopping for my mom a couple of weeks ago for a Mother’s Day gift on Etsy. I found a great necklace and convoed Eva about a special sale going on at this particular store. Eva told me she had already visited the shop with the intent of buying something for her Grandmother (my mom). We both bought coordinating jewelry from this shop and look forward to giving it this week. Obviously, we both love to buy handmade for our loved ones!
