UPDATE: Our canceled transactions form is now automated, and so we should not see a delay this holiday season, 2008 / New Year 2009.
With the record sales over the past months, we in Support have also had record transaction issues to address. During the holidays, we got a little swamped, but Chris (RevolvingDork), gave Support a most excellent holiday present: we now have the ability to turn over your cancellations at a faster rate!
As with any new feature, we may or may not have a few kinks to work out. We are completely up to date, so if you have NOT had your transaction canceled, please re-fill out the report and we will get to it lickity split.
FYI:
To cancel an Etsy Transaction, you must be the seller in the transaction. If you are a buyer, please contact the seller and ask them to do this.
The reports are found in the Help section under the "Report a Transaction" link. You can also find a handy link in Your Etsy.

Happy New Year!

My cancelled sale is gone, but my shop total still says it's sold.
(I have sold 4 but the shop page says 5.)
Thanks RevolvingDork, you're a genius!
Thanks Etsy Team!

*sigh* I had to record my first transaction (as a buyer) this year. So sad! At least it's easyish to do though.

Thanks for the info, it would be nice to have a sellers handbook sent to the seller for reference. You can get lost clicking back and forth and searching for certain info.

Thank you for the information. I agree with Serendipities4U to have a sellers handbook sent to the seller for reference.

I 2nd that motion... how DO you list a reserved order? Do you just type in 'Reserved For...' and hope no one buys it?
I am new to Etsy so I have lots of questions. So far, everyone here has been awesome and so helpful!

Re: listing a reserved order: If it's an existing listing, I just change the title to "RESERVED for ...(their shop name or first name)." I leave my photos as is, but many seller use a special photo that's not an actual item in their shop. If it's a custom order, I create a regular listing for it but just put RESERVED for ... for the title. In both cases I usually put in "Please do not buy this unless you are ... If you are interested in something similar to this, please contact me."

So glad you are right here...everywhere ....when we need you.
Like Martha S. says, "It's a "good thing."

Being new, I am just reading everything that you offer. A Handbook would be great. How to design and put on an effective BaNNER WOULD BE GREAT. I am not a computer person, and I don't know how to do too many things. I tried to follow some directions, but goofed up. I will continue to check out. Thanks for being available.

Useful info, it still may take some time. Even with updated system my cancelled transaction was lost in system somewhere and I had to email support couple of times to get it finally cancelled.
