great video, I like the other one w/ make magazine too - I still wanna see a how to on the diy exposure unit you used in the Make video. The sun never works for me, and the lightbulb in a pie pan method works about 70% of the time!

This was hilarious. I never though of using the sun to expose, and from the video, I think I prefer my 250 watt bulb inside :)

a few questions...do you rinse with hot or cold water? if cold, could you just use the hose outside?

and what if you live in cloudy washington state where there is no sun? does it still expose?

Hello Friends,

1. Re lightbox: Many people ask me how I built it, so a "how to" is certainly in order. I will get on it

2. Rinse with cold water, a hose works great, but in NYC we lack lawns and hoses

3. yes, screens will still expose on cloudy days. It just takes longer. There is a good deal of trial and error involved initially. Exposure times vary depending on emulsion used, brightness of light source, distance from light source etc. You can always also use a high watt light bulb or unfiltered black light to expose screens. The sun is a fickle beast, so you may want to try the more controlled environment first

While we couldn't stand not having a pressure washer and controlled environment for coating/exposure it is cool that you are showing *anyone* they can print! And that = more cool printed stuff everywhere!

Amazing How-To video! Loved it, loooved it and learned so much! Creative, funny, interesting and not intimidating whatsoever. I remember learning screen printing back in 6th grade but forgot all of it through the yrs. Thank you so much for sharing this. Now I'm motivated again to design my endless tshirt ideas! Bravo Etsy!
